so i took a few shots of my buddies '47 fleetmaster that he's been working on for a while now. started out as a straight 6 three on the tree, now it's running a mildly built 350, 700r4 tranny, and a 12 bolt pos rearend out of a k5 blazer. anyway here's a few quick pics i snapped while i was in town. enjoy :goodjob:

Should have kept it a straight six IMO. There are tons of bolt ons for the old Blue Flame sixes, and everybody has a "three fiddy" nowadays so a six would stand out more. Other than that it looks like an awesome project.:goodjob:

yeah the six was actually running when he got the car, he said it just didn't have enough power from what he's used to driving.

i knew the heavy chevy would be up eventually. i think all he lacks is having the driveshaft shortened.

A lumpy cam, a 4 barrel, and a HEI ignition would fix that. Those sixes pack a surprising amount of torque, and are pretty much indestructibile. :lmfao:

i'll post some interior pics tonight, it's in ridiculously good shape for being original from '47

yeah i know there's a bunch of aftermarket parts now for a six, but it still doesn't compare to the power or driveability of a 350 with a 700r4. :D

Not in that bad of condition! I think I would have went with a 383 stroker motor, but an old 350 will get the Job done I guess.

yeah, he was going to do a built 400 small block, but then decided he wanted something that would be reliable enough to drive to rod run. this is the slowest car he owns, and the least built motor i think he's ever done.
