ok im gonna be honest... i wasnt that impressed. im a HUGE judd apatow fan but i think his other stuff is way better. maybe you need to be a stoner to appreciate this one... lol

It was good, but overrated. I've seen much funnier movies. They could've done so much better with the Asians.

i loved it.
Hahahaha this **** was hilarious. I could see why it got bad reviews but it was a fun time at the theaters!

werd, ppl have either set their "funny" standards far too high now a day to enjoy such an epic film....that or they are so tightly wound they cant possibly let themselves enjoy it

exactly, i went in there with some friends and no expectations of the movie at all. LOL! I was surprised, it was really funny and i couldnt stop laughing. I dont even smoke weed and I thought it was funny. "Thug Life" Especially the part where they were fighting in the house and the dude hit his head on the toilet. I saw step brothers too and it was funny but there were parts that werent funny and drawn out i thought. good movie though. I think pineapple express was way better.

That character is nothing like what Nick Swordson would play. The actor they got was perfect IMO.

Watched it fully like a week ago. First time I smuggled a 40oz of BudLight in a big cup from the Shell into the theater. Started drinking on an empty stomach just as the trailers started. Finished the whole cup just before the movie started.. I was pretty damn tipsy. I thought the black and white part was a trailer! :lmfao:
That ended up us going home half way through the movie, we had no idea what was going on..
Had some good music in it though.. The part with the Dr. Greenthumb ringtone.. when I was drunk.. Something inside me made me sing the entire song and that got me a good 20 bad looks from people trying to watch the movie.
Lesson learned. I'm never going to see a movie drunk again, unless its like Beerfest 2 or something.

For some reason in the previews where he says "thug life", I thought it was Nick Swordson, and imo he would've done a better job at it. I didn't think that guy was that funny really. But it's all personal opinion.
Man he did an awesome job and no one couldve done it better. Nick plays too many gay roles. I dont think he would have done a good part in this one. Nick is too girly. He is funny, but not the right part for him. Dany McBride also was hilarious in tropic thunder.

I know, it was so well done. Clearly more well thought out than pineapple express was, which I think was its downfall. Of course thinking isn't necessary for a stoner movie, but TT really got me because I hate actors and their bitching and they exposed it.

I liked Pineapple Express a lot more than Tropic Thunder. I thought Tropic had really funny moments, but Pineapple was just great all around. Maybe I just love stoners, they are more believable idiots, I know too many really smart guys that get high and are completely dumb, that's their charm.
Also, the last five minutes of Pineapple is the funniest and most believable scene in the movie, unlike everything in Tropic.
