Who, on IA, actually works hard as hell...

As in manual labor. Who all works outside and has to really get on the grind? I'm talking like construction workers(full-time, not just when you can), road workers, people that have to work in the weather..good or bad. I do. I deal with about 5,000 cases of beer per week. I work in the rain, the 100 degrees, the snow and ice, the 0 degrees, all of it. 5,000 cases of beer is a lot of stress on your body. Julio sees it daily, he knows what I do. The good thing is, though, is that I don't have a set time to get off work. I get off as soon as I'm done with my truck. I start at around 7am and each day I manage to get done and off around 12:30-1pm. Not too shabby.

Who else works this hard? Just curious. Later, QD.

I dont think working hard necessarily means that it has to be with hard labor.,... i work my ass off every single day.... mine is more mental than physical

Yea, Thats hard work right there.... What I like about that job though is if you have a good, quick, smart partner in that job Is a great gig. Be done quick .. A few hours of work like that everyday is not bad though.

I really feel it for the people who work outside with this weather for 12 to 14 hours a day.. fuck that shit.

well, i do landscaping for post apartments during the summer and winter breaks, so yea, no matter the weather i worked, if that counts

i dont work outside but do labor i work in a warehouse building, sanding, travel to install them sometimes cabniets, desk, all the shit in kitchens and shit...its a lot of work and early as shit 6am to about 230 or so i have to be there at 6 tomm but only till 12 on sat so not to bad. its labor and hot as hell but not outside

the other day i worked from 8 am to 4 am the next morning in the baking heat setting up concert equipment and i do that about 4 or 5 times a month and that is crazy hard work...we go through about 5 gallons of water a day between a 10 man crew....it's the hardest work i have ever been through...but every day of the work week all i do is ride around and load and unload tires so it's not too bad

lol well i am horrible with #'s...like i will tell you i live a mile from the bp and i am actually only 100 yards...i have a bad judge of time and disance....i guess each time we fill the big orange jug that's about what 6 gallons plus a ton of ice and we refill it twice a day....so maybe 12 gallons and that's 12 gallons in 9 or 10 hours....on a 21 hour day we prolly do 18 gallons or more.....plus gatorades and whatever they buy us to drink with out lunch....but yea i never realized how much goes into setting up a concert till this job...now when i see a concert i'm just like good lord that prolly took forever

That's why I asked about manual, physical labor. I know a job is a job anywhere. But I've had office jobs(and love it) and compared to physically getting out, dealing with the weather, it is much easier to handle. ive worked on boilers which is too damn hot and strenuous, worked in a machine shop which was cool as fuck but i quit to become an electrician... which i currently am but now im going to school to become ase certified... and so that meens im not going to be an electrician anymore....

well i may not have that much of a hard job but i know my father does. He works in a place where in the winter that can;t have the heat on and during the summer their not allowed to have a/c due to the glue that they use on their products. i went in there once during the summer and it felt like it was 150 degrees in there, and lately he's been working 7 dayz a week.

I know what ya'll mean. The other day is was pouring rain here in Korea and i was outside, soaking wet, just working on a truck that was stuck in a ditch. But thats my job so its no big deal. I don't think i could handle an office job to well. I need to get out and do something.

Worked in a carpet warehouse for two years. Now for the last three years I have been setting up tents for outdoor events. Its hella hard. Some weeks, I may work 30 hours, but there have been several 80-90 hours weeks. Most are around 40-50 though.

Our widest tent is 60'. Each section of tent is 60x30, so you have to lace together pieces of 60' wide tent to actually make a tent. So say if we do a 3 piece 60x90 (which is 5400sq ft. = bigger than probably 99% of the peoples houses on here) it will have 114 40" steel stakes. How do you think they get put in? Me and a sledge hammer. It's pure hell. So then once the tent is up, we then have to ususally lay a dance floor, put up a stage, tables, chairs, lighting, and any other equipment that is rented. Its tough but its fun. Get to do a lot of traveling. Anywhere around Georgia and been to the Carolinas several times. Get paid to travel and such so its no big deal, but that doesnt make the work any less hard.

i recently got a freaking slackass job. but for years i wrked on cars in hot a$$ shops. go out and get them in the rain or whatever and wrk fast bc ur on straight commission.
ive wrkd on marta busses, tow truck, mail trucks (right hand drive baby). but b4 this job i wrkd full time at a fabricating shop welding and building all kinda stuff, which i still do at night. my wrk days are from 9 am til like 12am.

I dont work outside, but I work in a plant doing steam chest molding(making styrofoam cups). The plant has 50,000 tons of AC which most days holds the temp to about 10 degrees higher than whatever it is outside in the summer. Without the AC the plant would stay at about 110 on an 85 degree day. I troubleshoot and repair the equipment BTW
