that sh.it happened on my teg...I got a test pipe for it to delete the cat because that's what someone told me it was...it didn't help at all. I figured it was a heat shield as well so I took all of them off...still didn't help...so I sold the car :D

did you install new gaskets when you installed your new headers? where the header and cat connects at. also check if your exhaust pipe is not loose. see if its on the plastic holding thing, if its not on there right it will shake and might cause it to vibrate against something and make the rattling noise. the rattling noise can be from your muffler too. next time when you turn your car on make sure its from your cat and not the muffler. if its none of those take the cat off(6 bolts) and shake it or hit it. if that is the noise you will hear it when you hit it. thats all i can think of right now. g/l

there is a hanger on the back side of the header. close to where it connects to the cat at. its bolted up or just hanging there.

i had the same sound, then i took mine to the local muffler shop, told them to replace every thing, but the stock muffler.... so now i have 2in from the header all the way back to the axel... No funny rattle sound now. and i only spent 75 bucks. and that was some thing about laws and cats.

ok i got the gasket on .. but .. it seems to have made my car 2x lounder ... i have a greddy muffler and greddy headers... the gasket seeems a little small .. so .. i had to take my springs off the bolt from the cat to get it to bolt up .. it looks pretty tight .. without,em .. but idk .. lol... without the gasket it was not that loud..

thats weird it got louder with the gasket? did you tighten the pipes back together really tight? maybe you have a exhaust leak now. Cant think of any other reason why it would get louder with the gaskets.

i cant get it as tight as it should be .. the gasket .. wont fit that good .. so i cant use the springs that came on the bolts
