ok im looking at buy some 2" drop spindles for my truck. there is 2 types of metal they are made in Steel and Ductile iron. i was wondering which one is better and would last longer?

not being a smart ass, but google? Figure out the properties of each metal and what each consist of. I dont know so metals very well.

I BELIEVE STEEL IRON WOULD BE BETTER BUT LIKE THIS GUY SAID I WOULD GOOGLE TO CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF

steel will be stronger...do you know what type of steel by chance?

steel for sure iron is a softer metal i do believe

Yeah, if you can find out what kind of steel it is, that would help.

Ductile iron is just what the name says...ductile, flexible, not as brittle as standard cast iron. With hardness comes brittleness. Less hard = more flexible and more able to withstand shock. I'm not sure what the happy medium is for something like a drop spindle, as it carries a lot of weight and sees a lot of shock. Chances are you're going to want to go with the steel one either way as long as it's relatively mild, low carbon content.

steel it takes more heat yet more wear and tear and last longer
