ANOTHER SUBARU KILL

i ran a black bug eye wagon with gold wheels and yellow fog lights, in my s2000 today.


i got to talk to the dude (seemed like a cool dude) for half a second at a red light he said he had an upgraded FMIC and a tune and bolt ons but on a stock turbo. he was by himself and i had my gf in my car.

the outcome:

30 roll- i won by 3 cars easily
40 roll-i had him by 3 1/2+ cars

we did another roll but i dont really remember what mph it was i still had him by a good amount of cars i had to slow down due to a car pulling out.


dude if you're on here i had fun running you :cheers: we should get a dig run next time.

No, the wagons are the same as the sedans just 80lbs heavier. The Bugeyes have the 2.0l engine and the front mount on the stock turbo really isn't a good idea.

yeah ive seen a couple vids of a boosted s2k vs z06's with full bolt ons and a tune and the s2k takes them but as soon as they do a high mph roll its over lol 6th gear on s2k's are :gay:

but yeah im prob doing a low boost since itll prob be my DD for a month or so until i can get my beater car lol so yeah it will be fun times when we run. :cheers:

I'm stage 2 with a Cobb OTS reflash. I ran a bolt on s2000 from a dig at AMS one friday night. I royally screwed up the launch so he got the holeshot by about a 1/2 car, then pulled another 1/2 car over the 1/8 mile. He said his car was making 300whp.

My car is my DD, so 6krpm clutch dumps were out of the question given the nature of the subaru 5 speed. He dropped the hammer hard and his car dug in like a sonofabitch. It was pretty impressive.

Any 2.5l liter subaru with a good protune will probably hang with you pretty well.

I'd be interested to run you on the highway. Maybe like a 20 roll or something.

a bolt on s2k isnt going to make anywhere near 300rwhp. they dyno just below 200rwhp bone stock, so you're talking about adding 100 rwhp from simple bolt ons? the ONLY way an s2k can hit the 300 mark to the wheels (without boost) is if it's a FULL... i mean FUUULLLLL n/a build topped off with ITB's and such... and even then i have my doubts...

my bad. i guess that extra .2 liters net you an extra 10 over the ap1's... see dispacement does wonders!

my to my point tho, you're still right around teh 200whp mark, so no i wasnt really WRONG, just a little off. when comparing dyno numbers that happens. could be anything. the type of dyno, conditions, etc. hell, when i first got the heads on, the very first dyno pull with no tuning was 425/415 to the tires... guess what tho... it was a fluke! we couldnt get it to duplicate it regardless of what we tried... dynos are nothing but a tuning tool and yes, its fun to throw around numbers to see who has the biggest balls... but it really doesnt mean a whole lot. lol

Do you know how a S2k will fair against a E36 M3 97-99? I have ran several of those with bolt-ons, either pulling or extremely close runs.

I want to go to the track, but i'm damn sure not clutch dropping. I will slip it to get the best launch possible. My DD has to last, lol.

That was me. And yeah you killed me. BUT to defend myself as others have said the car does have some issues. ALSO I dont have have a FMIC its just a larger TMIC and no bolts ons or anything. Pretty much bone stock...I thought I said that but we were talking out the windows while moving so I guess you didnt hear me... On top of the vaccumm leak, thats causing misfires , that Ive yet to find... a while back the TMIC, that I have removed since our run, broke the wastegate actuator right where the vaccumm line attaches so I had to replace it. It was difficult at the time to find a stock replacement so I found an aftermarket one on ebay. It doesnt allow the turbo to spool fully until around 5k which is considerably higher than stock and the spool overall is sluggish at best.

I do have an 18g and a downpipe sitting in my garage waiting to be installed so once I get these issues resolved and a tune Ill run you again :taun: .
