I've decided im going to build my motor somewhat.... I'd like to have a stock bottom-end, and built head and valve train only. Later on, i will be boosting the motor but only to 8 - 10psi for dailydriving.
My goals for the motor are:
-Max 300whp
-able to safely rev and keep powerband beyond 7k (redline)
-be reliable
-able to rev much quicker than stock
This is what i have so far, and what i have planned:
-dual valve springs
-port and polish
-3 angle valve job
-new valve stem seals
-new head gasket
-get head milled down (not sure how much, whatever is safe:thinking: )
-titanium retainers
-oem valves
-chipped and tuned by Scotty @ Mainstream
How does this look? I am having trouble choosing a cam! What should i run?:D

Also, could anyone tell me what kind of potential "all-motor" power this setup may make before boost is going through the motor? It will have new piston rings and a new headgasket when i get done with it as well.

Dont waste your money trying to make power NA.
you would be better off just buying a VTEC head and putting it on. Youll make more power with a VTEC head than you will with all that crap you just listed.
If you are serious about going turbo, then most LS people need 404s and springs/retainers. Milling the head is the opposite of what you want to do, dont do it. Porting is a good idea, but it depends who does it.
Personally i would jut buy one of the $300-350 VTEC heads on here, a skunk2 intake manifold, GE LSVTEC kit and swap it out. THen i would get it tuned and keep the revs below 8000 so your block doesnt let go.

Well its your call you can either
1) SPend a ****load of money and make almost no power gain
2) you can spend a small amount of money an pick up 15-20whp
They invented VTEC for a reason

I read on another site that the 404s arent good for turbo though?
