I don't like Hondas or old cars, but I gotta respect a project like this. That car looks awesome...especially in comparison to what it was when you bought it. I'm actually a bit in awe at the time it takes to do something like this. Great job QD.

What's that? Hail no on the tint, lolol.

I appreciate the compliments neon_guy and mad Mike.

STI01, no on the rims. I like mine just fine. If I were to find the set I do want, I would do that. Otherwise, I'm cool with where it is now. Later, QD.

QD..No offense..But..Is that the fnished product from the paintjob? or is it just in primer mode or something?

quickdodge®

QD..No offense..But..Is that the fnished product from the paintjob? or is it just in primer mode or something?

No offense taken, man. It is NOT the final product. Just stuck in primer mode with a semi-gloss clear over it. Since the body work/prep got more extensive than we thought, the price would have to go up. I was only prepared for the main paint deal so we did this. Fixed/repaired the rust and filled holes and did a bumper tuck on the front/rear. Now when I go back, it will just need to be sanded, primered, sanded and then painted the final color. Later, QD.

It went as planned. No real body work done. Just healed the wound itself. It will have the scar until it goes back for final bodywork and paint. Got the metal covered and re-painted so that rust won't settle in. Later, QD.

Update...found out today that I will be ordering a Weber downdraft 32/36 DGEV carb for this thing in a week or so. This will also get rid of my manual choke and give me electric. It will basically look like the below:

All that is left for this car is the final paint job on the outside.

On the inside is just floor carpet, stitching the seats and hooking up the radio w/satellite (which I have Jon from American Radio doing). Later, QD.

I finally went by and got some "NOW" interior pics of the car for a comparison for the future of the car. Going with a rare pattern for the seats from the 1st gen Civic and a color change for the carpet. Once these two items are done, along with hooking up the radio, I'll be pretty much done with the car. To be 100% finished, I would just need to put the final paint on top. The changes to the interior should occur around January.

But here are the interior shots of seats and carpet. Later, QD.

I see where you're at. But that's the good thing about this car, and something that most folks who don't know old school cars like this don't know,...cars like this one, mine, do not need any perks to stand out.

I realized a while back that it was kind of a weird cycle. You buy a newer car and you have to fix it up and make mods to show it off and be noticed/seen. You buy an old ass car and you can put it back to it's original form to show it off and be seen.

Preciate the comment, dude. Later, QD.

I'm going to find a shop to work on the wheels.

Found out today that my chances of having this car back by Sunday are very high! Even better, I might have it out Saturday. So I have my fingers crossed.

Later, QD.

My latest arrival in the mail. An original wooden Honda shift knob. Later, QD.

i work for a mercedes restoration shop, we have two of those shift knobs there...brand new. they dont have any emblems in them, but they do say made in italy along the plastic bottom. always wondered the history of them.

Not a big fan of Hondas, but respect must be given when it is due. Respect.

Coming up: I'll finally be able to start putting my emblems on as I will have a NOS rear hatch letter set coming my way along with the NOS fender emblems I already have. I also will have a NOS storage console coming with the hatch letters. This cubby hole has a roll-top door with the same wood grain as my dash.

I also have the option of one of two things to do. I can either order the material for all the seats and go ahead and get the entire rear seat (back + bench) done OR I can either have a working radio in the car. I am going to have my Sirius unit hard wired to the back of the factory radio so I can retain the factory look and still listen to what I want. I'd love to have a working radio after 6 years, but it would also be nice to finally get those seats look right. Later, QD.

I must say there is some real dedication here. Parts are not available like they are for newer civics. Thumbs up for the creativity.
