900hp 68 vw bug.

[Motivation]

This is my buddy's bug. He is the one I am building my car with right now. His car has a supercharged Mopar 416 small block and 727 torqueflite tranny, twin carb (750 CFM Demon). Still able to be on street with all lights functional, insurance, and tagged. Full tube frame. It pushes 900 whp and weighs 2300 lbs with driver and full fuel (driver= around 190 lbs). I just thought I would share some pics of this. It is definately well put together. A lot of time and money ($38,000 plus) was put in this. (This car was built because the guy got drunk and said he wanted to beat Herby. lol. Enjoy. Any comments welcome!

Correct, it runs in the 9's. But it is actually set-up more for the 1/8th mile.

yes sir... No offense to everyone with a Honda... But I get tired of the B18 and H series swaps. Got the motor and tranny for 3000 and it's fully built. Just sittin on a stand... Civic is down and is being done for a tribute car... I figured why not take my time and do it right... Hopefully it'll be worth the time and effort.

Yeah they are definately crazy... and that's what he enjoys speding his money on. they have a vette with 2500 hp. It's a drag car. It has a mopar engine in it also. They are Mopar fanatics. He has an older GTX all original. (PPL at AMS friday night might have seen it in the show n shine) But anyways, thanks all.

But to say this is stupid is kinda ignorant. It might not be your style but it's not stupid. There are a lot of things that could have been put in it for cheaper. But there is a reason he went with what he did. Because he wanted to! Want you to read that part again. HE WANTED TO. Not to please sum1 else like everybody seems to be caught up in doing. He is a mopar fanatic. There are a lot of ppl that put motors in there car cause they want to even though it cost more. Oh and by the way. Sponsors are great and so are hook ups with the stuff he has in there. So actually he didn't spend that much. He did all the work himself in his shop at his house. The price listed in the first post was from start to finish. There is a lot more in the car besides motor. But anyways, to each his own bro.
