ya we'll see - there are lots of opportunist here in Atlanta who i'm sure having been trying to knock on AMS door. I just hope they do this for the scene and not just a way to make a buck.

I do not think with such notice it will be a sucess and its seems to me AMS is just trying to cash in on the loss of revenue from not having NOPI. I do not think AMS knows the first think about holding thier own show. They just care they lost the money from NOPI so they are trying to come up with thier own way to make it

I agree with Bert, although i dont want to be negative about it.

I mean we will see what materializes. I think this year its over with, real test will be what happens next year. I dont think anyone can pull something off in 30 days.

It might be a good big SouthEast meet, but i dont see it being the national meet that Nopi Natls was. I cant see vendors spending money to come out here like Garrett, Skunk2, Ferrea, Tein, etc.

An i think alot of it happens to be associated with the economy an gas prices. Its just too expensive with not enough return on their investment.

The last time someone locally tried to throw an event at AMS it failed in terms of spectators. They had alot of drivers show up, but there was maybe 10 cars and 50 spectators total all day. We promoted the hell out of it too.

Just depends on how concrete the details get, and will it appeal to people to show up .

I would do it to make a buck..but then again you would do a good job just so you can do it again..and of course that would bring the scene back..

The fact that it'll be the same weekend as the original event improves chances of success. Getting something solid from AMS ASAP is key. It's a lot of preparation on very short notice for organizers.

I think it is a good idea. I also think it depends on what the person is expecting from it. If we go into it with open minds, and remember its NOT Nopi, it s an alternative. It could be something spectacular. It may blossom an opportunity for different enthusiasts to enjoy something different than the NOPI Nats. Don't get me wrong I've absolutely enjoyed NOPI and am disappointed it s not here this year. However, there is power in numbers, it makes everything a little more exciting. I will go just to see something different.

I don't expect it to be as organized as NOPI, but I wouldn't expect a first year event to have the organization down to a science- as NOPI was able to do over several years.

I think its a wonderful idea, just don't go and expect NOPI.

Ive got some great ideas, ill just say-Hands on and user friendly would be awesome. There is TONS of room.

BTW, if anyone is trying to do something with the AMS Event, and need some help. Get in touch.
