New to GA i just have a few questions..Help Anybody?

I just moved to GA about 4 weeks ago from VA. i do not no nothing about the laws in GA. Like what can u do to your car that is legal? is it legal to do motor swaps in GA? And if it is legal how would it pass the Emission Test?

How do swap pass the Emission Test? Don't they look at your vin to see if it the right motor?

What county are you in? The laws are pretty laid back here, some counties do not require Emissions.. others just run the test and if you pass you're good, I had test pipes on my car and passed with flying colors.

if that were the case, someone who blew up their motor & bought a new one to replace it would not pass emissions.

emissions are to see if your car is poluting too much.

yeah, it depends where you live. certain counties dont require emissions and you can pretty much run open header if you want (till you get pulled over for noise) Never had police give me crap about hid's or ride height, but maybe thats just chance, but i dont think GA has laws like that as far as i know.

that emissions law is changing soon though. starting soon (i dont know exact dates) every car in this state, no matter what county it is registered in, will have to pass emissions. i dont know about other states though.

just a heads up to all of you who have your cars tagged in non-emission counties because your cars wont pass emissions =/

I know they have been saying for years that they were going to put emissions in our county, but last I heard from a cop nothing is going to happen any time soon and when it does it will be so new and such a hastle that they probably wont be strict about it. And even in atlanta and big cities there are ways of getting passed if something is really off....haha

As for the motor swap......shouldnt be a problem. I know TONS of people in tons of counties that have done it with no problems. I mean dont hold me to that, but I am pretty sure its legal.

there are ride height laws and headlight color laws...most cops just don't care. But if they are bored they will def get you for that stuff

You can do basically anything you want to your engine. Hardly any cop looks under a car. You should be fine. Dunno, why ur in the red, but let me help get u out. :goodjob:
