Made a lip.....TAKE A LOOK!------------56K warning!

I just made this lip on a $15 budget. I kinda made it in a hurry...but you can make it look much better and it can be made pretty easily. Here is the link...

whats the point in home depot garden liner on the bottom? its gonna get ripped off the 1st incline you hit...atleast black out the screws/rivits

It's actually pretty strong. Probably the strongest lip you will ever come across....every other lip just gets cracked and its not THAT low. Plus its only like 5 dollars to replace. Next time I do it, I will do it much nicer with no cracks.

HD Lip FTMFW. I love my lip. I have enough left over to make like 3 more if i have to, but this thing just bends and flexes if you hit something. I wish it was a litter stiffer, cause i dnt believe it is actually serving a porpose besides makin the front look a lil lower.

Very nice...my bumper wont let me do it like that tho...:( I just wanted to make mine look lower cause of these big a$$ tires. But I couldn't find a lip anywhere for my car.

Oh and Im really not trying to show off my car or anything...just wanted to post some after pics...they have pics of a nicely done lip in the link. Hope someone likes it as much as I do and uses it.

i don't like your craftsmanship. lol. looks good on the cobalt and s14. you're going to redo it anyways so essentially this was for practice. a smoother cut and black rivets would make a huge difference. as far as being for or against the hp lip, i'd put it on a <$5k car anyday.:D

I rigged up one on my old just to see howd it look and work and you could see where the wind was pushing it back, like the civic in the pic. If you braced the lower part of the lip seems like its be effective.

Mine is pretty stiff. A lot of people don't like it, but I really like it. My bumper is kinda like the pig nose 240s...I have to put the lip on the inside...but I like how the lip matches the wheels and black top..

Mine is a really bad example...look at the one in the link. That one is done right...you could paint over the rivets or whatever.

actually, if you do it right you end up riveting the lip to the bottom of the bumper instead of the front, so the lip covers up the rivets.




however, the more i look at the pics the more i like it. your car can actually rock rivets and not look bad.

I know but I like the rivets. My car never was pretty...so why not make it more macho. I'm not gonna sit here and hate on ppl that dont like it...I mean we all have our own taste. But im gonna redo it to make the rivets look more even cause I messed up at HD buying diff. size brackets.

Yea, exactly...I had a ol' beater Conquest back in 97' that I couldn't afford to keep running, then my Dad bought this one for $1500 about a year ago now-
