Bought the bike, it still has the rims that I put on it from last summer. $4K for the pair of BST CF wheels. Less than 500 miles on them - so far.

It's a night and day differnce. Bike turns with zero effort - even at high speeds. The Marchsinis used to be on that bike. They are very light, but no comparison to the BSTs.

This one is a street bike - doesn't see the track. I have had several track bikes, but I only do track days, no real racing. I am selling my other R1, and will get another track bike. The R1 is too expensive to throw down the track, so I'd rather let a friend of mine get it for cheap first.

Less than 500 miles on them - so far.I love the craftsmanship of all the parts on it, it's all squared off CNC'd aluminum, from the calipers to the shock mounts with counter sunk allen bolts. Even the rear swing arm is rectangular steel stock with a square aluminum hub...I love how nothing is cast and rounded and cheap looking. Pure function. :goodjob:

I know. I've put a lot of work into the bike, so has he. Only two things that I want to change now - want a set of Rizoma mirrors for the street, and want to change the front brake m/c. I need to install the Translogic quickshifter, and recalibrate the HUD next though.

They are fine for the street. The BSTs are much nicer than the Dymags, and are sturdier also. Had a set of Dymags for the R1 before. Finish was not as good.

I know what you mean. If you are from 30' away, the gold wheels look better than the CF ones. You only ntice the CF if you look closely. The gold always draws attention.
