Ive been contemplating for quite some time now on buying a full size truck. and with gas being high now is the time. trucks are uber cheap. Gas mileage isnt a factor for me. I drive less than 15 miles a day to work. I only want crew cab and it has to be 4wd. I plan to use it occasionally to tow a small 20ft boat.

If youre gonna go that big, tundras are the way to go.. can either get the 4.7 or 5.7, and theyve got nearly $6,000 in rebates right now!

If you're only towing a 20ft boat, why do you insist on 4WD?

Not interested in the Tacomas? If i was to get a truck it would definitely be the new tacomas. but out of the list you got i would get tundra.

I'd buy an old pos f150 and only drive it when i need to move or pick up stuff..
no reason to have a new 60k dollar gas hog with 4 dollar/ gallon prices.. you waste so much money.
I cant buy any truck but a SuperDuty

the only good superduty's were the ones with 7.3's in them. every other motor has had alot of problems.

In 2015 half the world's oil will be gone anyway so good luck ever seeing below 3 a gallon. I say Ford btw.

Wrong, we had 3 F350's '04'04'05 that all had blown motors. The King Ranch '05 got the lemon law, and then we traded the 2 '04s in on a Mustang for the owner.
Here is what the '08 do

the 7.3 is a great truck, the last work one we had got 350,000 on it no problems
wannab20hatch
07-17-2008, 07:56 AM
thats why i wanted the 7.3 when i worked at ford a guy had one with the bully dog catalog installed on it and got more miles than that. he even said he was trying to blow it. never did.

Ive owned ALOT of trucks. Driven every kind, beat on most every kind and I have atleast one friend with anything youve listed.
Personally I pick chevrolet. Chevy makes the best gas trucks in my opinion. The 5.3 vortec is a well well well built motor. Its based off the LS1 motor thus it being an LS series motor. Ive seen 2 300+ k milage motors that have had a 100 shot on them for over 100k miles. Try that in a ford.
Ford, is a good truck. I like the looks alot but the little 4.6 just doesnt cut it for me. The gas mileage sucks and the power is a joke.
Dodge, the hemi eats gas. Like 8 mpg. I know you don't care about gas but thats just ridiculous. The 4.7 is a good motor, however again the gas isnt that great either compared to a Chevy.
Toyota. I have been a HUGE fan of Toyota for the longest time. However the Tundra is a joke. The pre make over ones are TINY. The cabs are small, they really arent a full size truck. Going on to the new body style, nice truck but I don't think its been out long enough to fully test it. Yes its the fastest full size 1500 size you can get without going into the Lightnings/SS Silverados or Single cab Hemi Rams. And yes it has HUGE brakes. But again, just driving the truck I feel that its cheaply made. I have owned an 83, 85, 87, 99 and an 03 and I personally think the older trucks are much tougher than the new tundras.
I trust Chevy. The new ones with gas mileage program get INSANE mileage. The ones with Cylinder shut off get in the 30s around town. Thats crazy. I want one pretty bad. However my 01 Ext cab 4x4 gets 22 on the highway with 130k on it. I harp on it pretty good like a truck should, I pull with it constantly more than I should, it idles at job sites all day long, and if some integra cuts me off I can be an ******* and drag my tires as I pass him :D
Also for cost effective ness, Chevy seems to have the best price for a Gasser. If you deciede to go Diesel, Dodge Cummins Commonrail all the way. Best diesel motor still made today.
Oh, when you figure out what you want, PM me, I am a wholesaler I can hook you up.

Thats because they have all gone through PDR but the dealer is still passing on some savings due to the prior damage.
