you're right but there is something wrong with a breakdown in every song
Hulud
07-14-2008, 04:51 PM
its not a local show and there are barely any breakdowns, theres a difference between hardcore and metalcore. :goodjob:

well not all metalcore is breakdowns. you just gotta find those certain bands lol. but breakdowns are what i think of when i think of hardcore and especially deathcore thanks to the older Job For A Cowboy

nah they are the most overrated band among scene kids.

FriskyWalrus
07-15-2008, 01:50 AM
you're so very right on that. i know quite a few kids that are like "OMG! JFAC IS SOO HARDC0RE Y0!" but some of their newer stuff is enjoyable

Went there for a show not too long ago... ****ing rules about the pit pissed me off, but I wanted to see the bands there so I put up with it.
I lol'd so hard when kids were looking at my shirt trying to figure out who it was (Suffocation shirts FTW!)

Wow people on IA listen to heavy music. Unfortunately local bands around here are awful, the only good one to ever come out of here is The Murdered.

Yea those bands are all great if you like listening to unoriginal music. I'm sorry but there's not anything coming out from this area that's anything special.

Thrash doesn't really do it for me. I like some bands that took thrash influence, like say Darkest Hour's old stuff if that gives you any idea. I respect thrash/speed stuff but it doesn't satisfy me musically. I like stuff like BTBAM, and then I also like retarded **** like Arsonists Get All the Girls, War From a Harlot's Mouth, and Horse the Band. I have really varying tastes with metal, but most newer/local stuff is getting so repetitive it's rediculous.

That's my favorite band of all time. Whether you like them or not the talent is undeniable, I dont know if you play guitar or anything but their guitarists are unbelievable, they have a style all to their own. Everything they play is unique in its own way, and I like that about them. Everyone in that band is sick, nothing goes overlooked. Plus their versatility is incredible, I doubt you've listened through Colors but I've never heard so many styles of music played in one album.

ive only listened to a few songs of theirs. and i admit. they have talent, i just dont like them lol. and i personally play guitar so i can admit if someone has talent and not be ashamed to do so

I cant argue with ya for not liking a band, it's all about personal preference. Just like I dont like thrash, but some of those guys can straight up shred and even though I dont like it I'm down with it.

a majority of the stuff i listen to is thrash, j-rock, prog, metalcore, etc so i know all about talent at different instruments. thrash covers guitar and bass, j-rock usually has a badass drummer in the band i.e. Shinya from Dir En Grey, prog has a shiitload of badass keyboardists, metalcore has very talented vocalists if you can find the right ones, etc

Yea, I'm getting more and more into prog stuff like Genghis Tron, I love how some bands are starting to get more and more expansive, keeps it interesting.
