what does GVWR mean? it has to do with the weight of a car. it says my miata GVWR is 2975. if thats lbs thats heavy as ****...civics and stuff weigh like 2200. if that is how much the car weighs then miatas are not light at all? in fact they are heavy for how small and underpowered theya are.

A gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum allowable total weight of a road vehicle or trailer that is loaded, including the weight of the vehicle itself plus fuel, passengers, cargo, and trailer tongue weight.

I didnt have to go to wiki to figure that out. It is used for emissions and classifying a large vehicle.

I knew what it meant. Instead of using my own words, wiki did a better job of covering all the bases.
