This is definitely on my mind... However, I think it's going to rain. :(
Damn you, stay positive!! I hope it doesn't, because I really feel like getting my 1/4 mile on with the new setup.

LOL I'm trying to be positive! I just don't want to end up somewhere far away from home on DR's and the rain. I wish I had a truck and trailer!

I think my daughter and I will be there. She's only 2.5 and is already addicted to "vroom vrooms" (fast cars).

Will one of you call me when you get there to advise me if the race is still on? Por Favor!
Do they make you wear a helmet at this place? If so, can you rent them there?

Well, I made it up there and there was no rain. There were a crap ton of SRT-4's though. That will be the last time I ever go to Atlanta Dragway. I don't like the format and by the time you run your car, its rediculously hot because of how fast they go through the lanes, you can't push the car....you have to drive it(LS motors have very sensitive coolant temp algorithyms...I lose 10hp across the board @ 205deg coolant temps vs. 185deg. Yes, this has been dyno verified). That said, my best time last night was only a
[email protected] :(. Pretty much everyone I talked to was down ~4mph. DA on the night was +2830'. I was getting horrible 60's and not only that, but I was spinning first gear once my car came on cam(4k and above). Hell, I was even spinning into second. A 450whp Cobra(pulley, full exhaust, tune...spoke with the owner) with Nittos went
[email protected] barking 4th gear at the big end with a 2.00 60'. 60' could have been better, but it was obvious he could pound the gears. If a 450whp Cobra is only trapping 113's, you know its a crappy night.
Edit: A new R6 also only trapped 118.5mph and a strapped, stretched Busa only trapped 133mph:eek: . I am sure he had more mods as it was loud as crap, but that was all you could tell just from looking at it. I guess I just need to run Leavinu or 03CobraAv8er or Lankhoss. Thats the only way I will be able to see if my car is making the power it dyno's at.

My wife and I ended up going. Lack of rain was nice. It was nice to actually be able to watch the drags for once instead of messing with the event. She'd never been to an event before. While some of the times were slow, the crowd was very social and we got to see some good head to head action. I really enjoyed (ok...start bashing me now) the hot rods. Never really been a fan, but those were fun.
I was constantly reminded that size/amount of stickers does not equal horsepower.
Outside of a car lot, I've never seen so many Neons in one place before.

I'll never run my car @ commerce again, but I will go to spectate. If I run, it will be @ silver dollar.
Did you run this past Friday?

Naw, I ran a little over a month ago. Besides the track being shiity, it is too damn busy. I was only able to make 2 passes and missed 3rd on my second run damnit...

Good job. I haven't went back to run at AMS since the classes are fcuked up. That CRX runs 12's but is allowed in a basically stock/bolt on class and in Pro 4 class there is a bug that runs a 5.XX 1/8th that is allowed to run against the rest of our street cars. It's fun to run during test and tune though.
