I have plans of doing an LS (b18b) swap in the near future and I plan on boosting it next year. I was wondering how would the 99-00 si tranny hold up when paired to a boosted LS?
and I plan on running 9psi daily and 13-15 at the track till it blows the rings. then I'll build it.

Due to the gearing on the B16 Tranny, I wouldn't recommend it. The short gears will be torture for daily driving.
I had a B16 with my LSV setup and it was brutal to cruise. I did enjoy the shorter gears, but for daily driving, I hated it.
I have a GSR tranny now and I will definitely recommend it. Slightly longer gears and a much better final drive to keep the RPM's down while cruising.
As for being paired with a Boosted LS, you will definitely have to have a light foot. With reliability, that all depends on the condition of the tranny when you get it. Will it stand up to a Boosted LS? Goes back to the tranny's condition and how you treat it.
Just my $0.02 cents.

thanks alot brian! (I think I spelled it right) and yeah I'll prolly go with the gsr tranny eventually.

I will say from my own research that a GSR tranny is better choice because of the gearing.
Now, if you decided that MPG is still high priority, then you could go with an LS tranny. Longer gears than the GSR to include a longer final drive. That would still be a fun Boosted LS and be able to maintain good MPG.

I'll prolly run the stock LS tranny until the rings go and I rebuild the motor, then I'll go either gsr or itr. depending on my cash flow.

I had couple LS turbo's one with Ls tranny loved it on the Highway....other B16 tranny Loved it on the strip 1/8th 1/4 also but ridin everyday an highway sucks...But I could get to 125mph super fast ..also when your in 5th you dont have to down shift either lol...I would got ITR tranny over any of them LSD FTW

MPG has less to do with RPMs and more to do with Throttle Position.
anyways, I agree on the point of shorter gears being a pain sometimes on the daily drive, I'm constantly changing. You can, however, never leave 3rd gear while taking a corner at an intersection. It's just a different method of changing gears - for instance - where you would have to go down to second in an LS or GSR transmission in order to keep enough RPMs to make the corner; third works just fine in a B16. And yes, highway cruising is 80mph @ 4500... but with a decent exhaust (you have to pay to play) - it's not obnoxious at all until you punch it.

:) I do the daily driving with my LS w/b16 all day . long.. and dont downshift as much with my original LS tranny.. .. i just floor it and it mooves.. :) but my mpgs with the b16 in my LS is crazy.. i've lost about 20-25mpgs
b16 w/LS full tank and pusshing it 290-309
original LS motor 300-320 pushing it
and when i say pushing it i drive it until it just dies.. and refill it with my little gas bottle.. i've teste both..

I do realize daily driving, and gas mileage with this tranny will be less than pleasnt, my main question is will it handle the power reliably?
^ of course it will

I agree with everything Bafbrian says about the B16 & LS trannies.
I use to have a B16 tranny on my LS/VTEC & now running an LS tranny. I definitely get about 30 MPG now compared to 25 MPG before and it's now quieter at cruising speeds on the hwy :) but yeah when I mash the gas it's not as responsive as it use to be.
