So i just got an Ebay Turbo Kit. Full thing. Well what they call the full kit. Anyway i got it for $50. Its a T3/T4. /Is it worth installing in my GSR or would it not even be worth the cost of tuning?

yeah my friend has had it for about 6 months and never used it so he sold it to me for $50 lucky you ... and yea it will be worth it to have it tuned if you dont go over 10-12 psi .. the seals will last ....anything turbo/supercharged should be tuned even if your car came factory turbo it should be tuned .

??? Looks like some SS auto chrome turbo, knock off sard r2d2 bov, and knock off tial wastegate. You notice he put NO BRAND NAME on any of the products. I give it 6mo before that turbo blows. Not just talking crap here either man, i went this route buying the cheap ebay deal, and fubar'd my motor, so just letting you know, you get what you pay for.

I build turbo's almost daily and have worked on these "Ebay" turbo's and can tell you that the only problem Ive ever seen with these are premature bearing wear which comes from balancing(Or lack thereof) after I build and balance them then I usually never see em again. They are built as good as most brand names you guys use.

I agree with that. I've seen the bearing and seal go out on these.

Make sure to put an oil restrictor on the turbo and I would go ahead and buy a good manifold with the money you saved. As you can see the manifolds are worth ****. I got this car about three weeks ago which is only about 4 weeks after it was boosted. So 7 weeks and now my car has a nice log manifold.

i have a friend that made 322 whp with a .50 trim t3 t4 ebay kit 0n 17-18 psi. he had a seal leak later i rebuilt it then placed an oil restricter bfore the inlet and no probs ne more. there good to get your feet wet, then later you can dive in to maybe a precision or somethin and learn more about block mods and builds as you learn on this one...

its like anything else depends on how much effort the person who put it together felt like putting into it. take care of it and keep and eye on chit and it should do fine.

$50 bux kid! Man you better slap that kit on before I slap you for even asking a dumb quesiton like that. The tune is going to be your only true investment.

How much dough do you have to play with? Like a few have said before me, address some of the parts that are known to cause some trouble, and you should be nice with only a few hundred dollars leaving your pockets. :goodjob:
