u dont need a title or emmisions if a car is older than 25 years i think.
u can register it by using a bill of sale.

The thread I linked has more info and even a link to the Dept. of Revenue's site regrading what does/doesn't have to have a title.

Also, use the GA T-7 Bill of Sale form. It is available for download form the DMV's site.

thing is though even if you buy it without a title you still need to check and see if the registration is clean on the car....just b/c you can buy it without a title doesnt mean it can be registered when the time comes....

a family member of mine bought a shell with just the bill of sale, swapped over his built motor to the shell, which he was told by the seller was clean, and it couldnt be registered b/c it was a parts only car

Once you get a Bill of sale for a old car lets say 72'chevy Nova...When you go to the tag office they will give you a form to take back to the car an have you get a Police Officer to sign off on it stating its not stolen! simple process i have done many many times

There is a way around that 99% of the time... been there and done that when I did the same thing.
