shouldnt be too much considering u can take the head off and take it to the machine shop.. and they can knock it out in a second!

Have you checked scotts machine shop in fayetteville or precision auto on hwy 85? both have on there site that they rethread blocks.I would throw the block away and buy a new one before I would let scotts do anything to it. I wouldn't let them air up a tire, much less any sort of machine work, or anything else for that matter. They should have some sort of "special education" work program. Their work quality would drastically increase.

Go to sears or to O'riely's and buy a bolt extractor kit. It will probably take about 10 minutes to remove it.

well u might be able to re thread it like blackshine said, with a kit form the parts store... ive done it before on a spark plug thread. But if its really deep than its gonna be hard to find something that long..

Oh, my bad. Blow out the holes with compressed air. If at all possible, get a tap and die kit and go over each hole. Make sure you blow any trash out of it or it will be very difficult to turn.

blackshine007
07-06-2008, 07:11 PM
It would help by cleaning up slag that was caused by trash that was in the bolt hole while you were trying to install that bolt. And it's good assurance that you will have a whole that won't tear up your bolts.

its about time to let your scott hating go. its getting old.I don't care how old it gets. They do ****ty work, period. If you don't like what I have to say, and if you're too ****ing stupid to see that their workmanship is that of an elementary school kid, then **** off. Its like I said before, if you're too god damn stupid to know good work from bad work, then you don't know what bad work is.

My friend they put his piston rings in wrong.Scared his block up I dont trust them putting together a motor. But I just use them for machine workI had a guy bring me a 347 that they did the machine work on, and assembled. He was complaining about having low oil pressure. I took it apart, and found several broken rings (from not being propperly gapped), a hand full of spiral locks in the oil pan, with 4 wrist pins sliding to one side scaring up the cylinder walls, and discovered his low oil pressure problem to be that they machined the main journals in the block too large. With a brand new bearing, there was almost .005 clearance on the mains. The crankshaft was within specs. To balance the engine, rather than drilling holes in the counter weights in the crankshaft, they cut large pieces out of them. So instead of the counter weights being a half moon shape, they looked like half octogons.
