I had a business deal to tend to out of town, on the way back in town I stopped by my mom's/step dad's house to hang out for a few.

We picked black berries together.

More gratifying than anything i've done all month. :D

I promised myself that i will make sure to never sweep family under the rug like lots of "Successful" people tend to do.

Thoughts?

I consider myself successful. "Success" is a purely subjective topic though. There are Tons of "thing"s that can define success, to some it's money to others it's religion and other factors. For me, it's a mixture of things. I'm still working on it though.

what made you ask that?

Well every Sunday our group of friends meets up at one of our houses and we cook a Sunday dinner.

Yea its nice to be with family. Even playing board games can seem like the greatest thing when my WHOLE fam is together. I actually love the chaos when my very large family is together.

i always make sure to spend time with my family, we may not be the closest bunch - but i know I'll miss my parents when they're gone. Besides, the more time i spend around them, the more they lose the title of "parent" and gain "friend" status. :goodjob:

...Especially after watching that movie "Click"... i may sound like an idiot for saying this, but that movie changed how i view my father by 180 degrees.

I used to hate spending time with my dad because we never got along when i was growing up. After seeing that movie i realized that he wasn't trying to be mean or rude, just trying to be helpful and show me what's up.

So now, regardless, we always spend Sunday together - and I'm always learning new things about him. As a result, the more we hang out, the more i realize what an A+ role model he is. lol

im the same way as a lot of people hav already said. i know im only 22 but i neglected the hell out of my parents during highschool and the beginning of college. i mean thas what young adults are supposed to do right? but i got to the point where i realized that they are alwasy the ones that are going to love you and care for you no matter what is going on in your life. too loose soemthing that great is something that most anyone can regret. I love my family. i spent this past week with them in florida, i wouldnt have changed it for the world. I got to be around my neice for 5 days and i wouldnt have changed that for the world. my family is amazing.

i use to do a lot more with my parents...

i've lived in kennesaw/marietta area now for 4 years... i use to go up and visit every weekend.... always made time for them.... then i started going up less and less... a lot of the times i barely see them...

BUT i've kinda got a bad taste in my mouth about it... in the 4 years i've lived on my own.. and depended on myself... they've never once come down just to visit me..(they live in blue ridge about an hour and ten away from me)... the only time resembling a visit was when my step niece was down from michigan and her and my step mother went to the aquarium.. they stopped by and i cooked them dinner...

gas is expensive these days... driving to br every weekend is not an option for me now...

you'd think they'd wanna see where i live.. maybe meet who i'm living with... make sure i'm not living in a meth lab or something! lol.

I always put my family 1st befor anything. When my sister come up from atlanta. I get to see and play with my little baby nephew. I always have a blast doing that. Better feeling and fun, then anything in the world. One memorable time I had with the family was. Last christmas, the whole family came ever and we eat good food and played charades. Very fun time...

Last month I went to my sister's wedding in Denver. It was actually the first time in 8 years that my two sisters and I had all three been in the same place at the same time and the first time in 10 years that my sisters, my parents and myself had been all together.

Sometimes I miss that...sometimes...I don't.

Either way...that day, it was nice.

Me and my family aren't very wholesome. We do lots of drinking and booty shaking when we get together. Always a good time.
