You talking about the yoke?

What truck is it?
Just get a yoke for it.

yogi08

nah, the yoke is on the front of the transfer case not the rear. speaking of yoke, heres a picture of mine thats snapped off in the front of it as well. thast another thing i have to replace. i believe what looks to be inside of the picture onto the yoke is ball bearings, seem to be rusted.

and no, the truck doesnt sit with the wind and debre with the possibility of flying into my transfercase. its all covered up.

my truck has too much power.

You're going to weld the driveshaft back together?

You could put it in 4 wheel and disconnect the rear (o wait lol) and run front wheel drive for a short/slow amount of time/speed

yogi08

haha but the front isnt driveable either man! atleast not until i get a new front yoke.

07-03-2008, 01:09 AM
O yea, lol
Dog, you can't drive it then. I don't suggest welding that **** though. What truck is it?

i got 44's with 20 inches of lift now, with 3.73 gears.
its a suburban.

i think i will just take it to the transmission shop and let them make a new one and have it balanced.

81911SC
07-03-2008, 01:14 AM
LOL, well that's why it's broke.
Have you thought about different gearing at all?

yogi08
07-03-2008, 01:17 AM
honestly i dont know anything about gearing, so im not sure with 44's and this much of an angle on my driveshaft what gears i should go with.

You are putting a lot of stress on damn near every component you got. Let me guess, It vibrates like hell when driving?

81911SC
07-03-2008, 01:25 AM
Are you running it on the road or what?

yogi08
07-03-2008, 01:27 AM
well i was crawling thru the river one afternoon and the front yoke snapped as i was crawling out of it, wasnt in very deep though.

ive driven it on the road a decent bit though, maybe about 1k miles. too lazy to trailor it to the mudbog really.

07-03-2008, 01:29 AM
You need a high angle driveshaft, bro.

yogi08
07-03-2008, 01:30 AM
well where you reckon i can get one of those?
or how do i know if i dont have it now?

i didnt build this truck, got it from bugman. and even he didnt build it, his friend did.

What axles you got under there, I might can help you. Is it the 14 bolt?

yogi08
07-03-2008, 01:37 AM
12 bolt on the rear i believe, ill look tomorrow. but ya pretty damn sure.

81911SC
07-03-2008, 01:39 AM
4.88s or 5.13s
Hell maybe upgrade to a 14 bolt with locker in it for 4 or 5. Then it will be full width though.

as i said before i know nothing about gears, but would the higher the gears are give me more or less torque?

like... i reckon what im trying to say is my top speed going to be higher or slower?

81911SC
07-03-2008, 01:51 AM
Higher gear, slower speed.

yogi08
07-03-2008, 01:57 AM
slower speed, better mpg?
although its still ****ty but in all in all, would it be better?

81911SC
07-03-2008, 02:01 AM
You don't want to go that fast in that anyway.

yogi08
07-03-2008, 02:02 AM
yeah, well believing ill be keeping it forgood ill just be driving it around town. advertising the trucklot i work for probably, since theyd be paying me to do so. they just wont pay for **** that breaks.

any other advice man?

You might want to look into a bigger axle. Those tires are a significant reason for that break. That's all I got for now. I'mma get some puusy. I'll catch ya later.

You need to buy a custom driveshaft with the double Ujoint. Many places will make you one and mail it to you. all you gotta do is measure it for them and they will tell you how.
