well, since this is the killforum, im gonna tell you guys about a buddy of mine i raced yesterday. I just got my mustang a couple of weeks ago and just got good at driving it, when all of a sudden my old srt4 buddy comes back into town with a gt30R turbo installed. as far as i know his is the fastest srt4 in columbus (im sure there are faster in atl), and we got to talking and decided to run our cars. So far no one had even come close to taking him in a race, with the new turbo he's pushing 350whp so i wasn't sure what the outcome would be. first couple of highway runs we were dead even all the way through 3rd and then almost immediately when I threw it into 4th i started walking him and got about a car on him both times. then we slowed it down and ran from a 40 roll. again, dead even all the way up to 4th and then I walked away from him. I never really had respect for those cars but running next to a turbo that loud is pretty intimidating...even though it is a neon. do those cars just lack good top end or what?

Was this the black one with the angel eye headlights or the silver one?

I was down last week looking for a race but my tire picked up a nail when I got into town so I had to leave my car on jackstands.

The top end should have been ok with the gt30. MAybe you just have more;)

I mean it is a 4 banger

SRT-4's with decent sized aftermarket turbos have good top end such as 50 trim or bigger.
SRT-4's with stock turbos have no top end only bottom.

If he's running with no port work on the intake manifold or throttle body that's hurting him badly.

yep, stock block 281. i might as well throw everything out there. vortech s/c'ed at 10psi, 70mm tb, accufab plenum, bassani catless x-pipe, bassani catback, 4in intake pipe, 42lb injectors, svt forcus fuel pump, and a whole bunch of other stuff too but those are the main power makers. put down 375whp on modular power house dyno in 100deg weather.
