Hello all,

I purchased a low mileage 2003 350z enthusiast. The only upgrade from the enthusiast to the base is HID's and a LSD. The 6spd shifts smooth and I will admit its actually a nice transition. I have owned several hondas and my last car was the wrx. I bought this car because it was an amazing deal and the my original intention was to give it to the wife. Not anymore. Its a great daily and I plan on doing some tasteful mods to the car. I have been doing alot of research. Its not as fast as the subaru was but its fun. Other than that I figured I would add a small list of the mods I am looking to do. I would like to go crazier with the list but for now it will do considering as its going to be getting alot of miles soon. I am leaving for flight school in a couple of months. No more shooting people in the face for a living! Or atleast from the ground that is.

Nismo Exhaust (just because i can pick one up locally used here in ga)
Nismo LMGT4 Wheels (I will be waiting until i find a used set of course)
Plenum Spacer
Aftermarket Springs (Dont want to spend $2500 on coilovers like my last car)
Set of test pipes
Rear diff gear change and new lsd

I have created an acct on NICO so hopefully i will get some good input from there.

I would be interested in hearing from people with the 3.9 or 4.1 rear gears on how there highway cruising and mpg changed. I am not interested in 150mph highway pulls but I dont want to be cruising 70mph at 5k either!

my350z is THE best forum for 350's. Period. Nothing else can even compare.

And I don't care for the color, but you paid for it. :D

I had a black track. Loved it.

I had to fly out to Dallas to get mine. Paid $21,000 for it IIRC. This was last November.

have you heard the Bassani exhaust for the 350z? it sounds bad ass. I've only heard it for the HR but it prob. sounds similar for the DE. I dont like the nismo exhaust.

Lol, yea the whole situation is funny, He basically called everyone on tehre out for being douche bags which is very true... It's like unless you've got a highly modded car, or completely stock you can't talk ****, lmao. Everyone just dogs new members for no reason, they think the Z is teh greatest car ever and literally, i've never seen a forum with quite such a large number of idiots. They all lack common sense.. Everyone on g35frenzy and related sites know it too.. my350z.com and g35driver.com just aren't good communities.. Kris is a stand up guy and everyone on there will believe a member who's been there longer over someone they dont know, regaurdless of facts.. lack of common sense ftmfl.

thanks for the comments guys..

Well, the community here is very local.. OBVIOUSLY, so people just bust your balls at first, but after a while your'e good. However, my350z.com.. if you don't have a 350z you will get shunned even the g35 drivers.. if you're not willing to admit the 350z is the greatest car ever you're pretty much ****ed. Even some Z owners on there get bashed because they're a member of the forum and haven't dropped 85,000$ into their Z yet. It's pretty stupid. Post up pictures of your stock Z and expect a whole lot of "who cares" "great" "get some ****ing money and put it int he Z" posts. No nice welcoming committee at all x.x. People that bash IA are just those who couldn't make it passed the entrance exam, a small bashing :P

^^ true true..

I guess thats why it pays to have been on this site since before it crashed the last couple of times..

I have already had a run in with someone here locally that is on that site and he was a douche. I am hoping that this POS will last atleast as long as I need it for and then I will move on to something else like always. Still a fun car none-the-less

You forgot to add how expensive and time consuming everything is on them. The 350's are most definitely not as bad as the 300 Z32's though. Having owned one of each I speak from much experience haha.

I wish to not say how much I paid in case I end up selling it soon. Lets just say I got a good deal. I am going to be setting up acct's on other sites.

Things are a little expensive on these cars. Like i mentioned before I dont plan on going crazy with this one. I would really like to find a nice 2.5rs or similair car to build a track car out of. Or maybe like i mentioned in one of my other threads find a nice little track bike to play with.

Huh...? lol.. Modding is a Z is no more exspensive than modding any car. The aftermarket parts if you know what you're doing and find group buys are very moderate.. not like honda, but moderate indeed.

Real money comes into play if you're looking for big horsepower numbers above 450. You can turbo a Z with no built internals and run low 6psi at around 400-440ishwhp and tq for the price of a turbo kti and install (6-9k)

However if you plan on more power you will be spending big numbers to remove the motor and build the internals. I dont know why people think the Z is so exspensive to mod, In the end, it's like everycar, if you want the numbers you spend a few thousand... the thing about EVO's and STI's is $1000 here and there grabs you another 30-40whp due to a stock boosted motor.. but even thats capped off with the small stock turbos.. if you want big numbers you're looking at upgrading your turbo kit, building internals and spending yet again over 10g's. So if you look at the facts the 350 is just as exspensive as everything else, you just gotta save for longer to hit the big hp boosters right off the bat ;).

Danzo
07-03-2008, 09:48 AM
My Z32 was looking at 8g's to make 450 rwhp. Also I'm not necessarily talking about just enhancing the car when I say expensive. I'm also talking about keeping it running. The 350's are nowhere near as bad as the 300's but they still aren't super cheap either. Oh and Cameron I didn't mean I owned one I kind of wrote that fast. I have had a Z31 and then I got my Z32 a few years later.

Well being the 300 is a stock turbo'd car from the factory in the 90's you're bound to have some issues ;). However the 350 has Very little problems mechanically, a bad transmission in thet early models and since then it's flawless as far as problems go :).

www.my350z.com forums/marketplace people sell them on there all day. I see them go on ebay for $1800ish buyitnow normally, That's about as cheap as they get. HOWEVER if you're smart you'll buy a 300ZX BBK (around $500 if you peice one together with steel braided lines/calipers/rotors) which is the exact same 4 piston brembo break setup that's on the track model 350z's and it's also a direct bolt on with Brembo drilled and slotted rotors, where as the stock rotors from the brembo version 350 have brembo blanks, no drill or slot ;). You're welcome.
