i've also seen super quicky versions using black pantyhose stretched over the whoe taillight and tied off, then you hide the tied part behind the taillight when you reinstall it.

dunno any1 local, but yes it is expensive stuff :( but it looks alot better than the RC car tint paint.... IMO

that lil can will go a while, i painted allll the lights on my car with 1 can, and that was multi-layered

i used RC car tint the other day(ive been waiting for them to restock for a month) on my burban, it worked really well, wet sanded/cleaned the lenses, sprayed, then cleared.. looks very good on my black 'burban, and the light has no problem shining through at all

^^^ when we tried the RC paint, it just bubbled up...

guess some people have better luck than me :(

I did RC paint and cleared it also, it faded completely after a year...The RC paint has no UV protection and neither did my cheap rattle can clear.

is this legal?

No, its not legal. Any modification that lowers the light output of the tailights is illegal. Will you get a ticket for it, probably not unless you go crazy with it. I've done many of them here at the shop and only one person ever got a ticket for it and that's because he wanted them really black. I've found that doing a test light first to find the desired tint and then doing the real lights with 2-3 heavier coats gives the best results. It keeps the lights from looking dull, then spray with medium coats of clear and it will be nearly as shiny as they were before.

I used night shades on my talon, it worked out great and one can (which is pretty small looking) did the entire thing (left, right, and center tails). They started to fade (very minimal) after two years, but nothing that cant easily be fixed with another can and quick spray. The only problem I had was I went to one of those do it yourself car washes, and put the pressure washer too close to the taillight and it just stripped a section of the nightshade right off (that was about a year after tinting).

yea, don't go crazy with it use two to three coats,. I turn my lights black, got a warning ticket, and since then wet sanded it all off.

also carried at RPM Motorsports off Jimmy Carter... Couple guys in our club use it religously works really well...
