RS's were only FWD. There is no AWD focus unless it was custom made. And i know a guy that owns a shop in Orlando area that does a lot of the v8 swap foci. I did have the Toyo tires v8 focus out one night (was in our trailer, lol) after we picked it up from the shop to take it to Atlanta to get painted. I didn't know any of you guys at the time though.

The guy I bought the engine from said it burned oil. Bad rings. My current engine has the same problem, so I've decided to just fix this spare up and swap them when mine gives out.
I have a full gasket set, so now I need to figure out if I'm just going to replace the rings or if I need to tear down the head.

This engine and everything I have for it has only set me back around $150.

he actually has a shitty dv(its leaky) so its only holding around 13 psi
he should have around 250 at the wheels, he still has plenty of mods to do though.
the turbo is small as you know, so it spools up around 3200, all the torque, around 270 iirc is right after idle so at around 1300 he has all that torque.

that's not too bad.
the only experiemce i've had with a K04 was on my fathers mazdaspeed6. its a 2.3 liter motor with a 6750 redline. at the stock 15.6psi peak power came around 5800 and by 6200 the car was making less power than 3000 and less than 11psi of boost. the placement of the turbo was good. after doing a CBE and test pipe (factory DP) it was slightly better but struggled to hold boost.
the biggest issue we had with the K04's were the seals continuously seapped oil and sent huge clouds of smoke out the exhaust at idle.
id imagine on a smaller engine it'd do better as far as efficiency goes. it can provide more boost over a greater powerband without losing too much steam.
and aren't those diverter valves one of the first things your supposed to change on those cars?!?!? and don't some require frequent cleaning for proper function?

They can be a bit pricey but the work is top notch. They are the ones who did all of the work on my 351W. Bored .030, Torque Plate Honed, Align honed, turned the crank, resized the rods, pressed new pistons, and balanced.

Had troubles with Scotts a while back with an LS build.

What did they do wrong if you dont mind my asking? Everyone I know who has used them in the surrounding area seems to be happy with them and I've never had an issue thats why I always recommend them. If they are slipping that would be nice to know.

I know Zappa's in Newnan fucking blows. I wouldn't use them again if they were the only shop around. Fucked up my flywheel on my Escort, Fucked up my buddies king pins on his 68' F100 and my buddy even gave him the correct reamer cause the guy didnt have one, and then they fucked up my Bro-in-laws wheel bearing on his Taurus.

Schroeder, they built a former buddy's LS (bored .020 over and usual align hone and cylinder hone as well as measure for new bearings) and screwed up the bearing size. They were way off on the bearings.

It was their responsibility to check clearance for the bearings. We had them do all the measuring and balancing and we assembled. Where the problem came into play is when we went to assemble the bottom end and when we put the bearings on the motor, they were obviously wrong. Bearings were placed right and they were too long and not even the right curvature. Even "pushing" them into place, they were too long.

I've pretty much made it a habit of double checking if my truck is locked before going to bed. Welp, last night I guess my oversight was someone elses luck. Some little sh*thead went through my truck. Stole an empty LMFAO CD case which my brother left in my passenger door and a little zip lock bag with very small change (pennies, nickels and dimes not even quarters or any bills). He left my company gas card on the seat, my gf's $80 Steve Madden sunglasses on the floor and it doesn't even look as if he touched my uber expensive prescription Oakley glasses (not sunglasses).

Guess, I'll never forget to check it again. Luckily there wasn't anything for the idiot to take.

Black block (with high-temp clear coat), silver (aluminum, no paint) head, graphite valve cover with polished letters.

That picture was taken mid-polish. The smudges are the polishing compound. I'll take a final picture tomorrow, when the clear coat has dried.
It's very subtle, but it looks so much better. When I swap engines, I'm going to take the other valve cover and do a design on that.
