MY DOOR IS STUCK!!!

I have a 94 civc coupe, i drove it today and my door open and shut fine, up untill 5 mins ago. i went to put my key into the door to unlock it, it did that fine. so i went open the door and it did nothing. i know that both of the door are unlock. the passanger side opens and closes fine. but the drive is stuck shut. i dont know what the hell it could be or how in the hell to get it open and fix it. i try hitting it, kicking it and those did not work. can anyone help me with my damn door. i will give rep for helping me out!!

p.s has this happend to anyone besides me?

id assume the locking mechanism broke in the door, by any chance have you tried unlocking it from the inside? i know it sounds obvious, but just want to make sure, and you have tried opening it from the inside as well right?

i tryed unlocking it from the outside and opening it.. still did not work. then i trying locking and unlocking the door from the inside and opeing it. still did not work.

try taking the seat out and then the door panal as much as possible, then you will have to feel around inside and find the locking mechanism if possible follow the linkages with your hand,(feel if they are still attached) if not try and feel where they should go and flip the latch and there you go, car door unlock. also if you have a slimjim or know someone with one give them a call, they may be able to open it.

I can't get the door panel off, if any at all, because the door is completely shut and I cant get to the pop rivets or screws.

IF its the little pop rivet type ones then you should be able to take them out, you just have to be careful. the reason i know this is that this same exact thing was wrong with my miata on the passenger side. so as long as its not a screw you should be able to do it. oh and be prepared for cursing and blood

EDIT: you need just enough space to get your arm/hand down in there

then drive the car somewhere and leave the car running, then lock the doors and go inside, then get the cops to come out and slimjim the car. for some reason they will do running cars but not nonrunning cars. -or- lock keys in door and call your insurance and use your road side assistance to come slim jim the door and open it.

EDIT: of course have a spare key in case they cant get it and give up, but wait till they leave to use the spare key

the metal rod come off or broke loose from the plastic clip if youy can get ur speaker cover off and of a piece of the panel and grab the two rods in side and push them toward the front of the door it should open i did mine through the speaker hole on a 93 civic but my buddy had to ruin his panel. a slim jim wont help at all there is two rods one to the lock and one to the handel unless of course the lock rod slipped out but again the slim jim wouldnt help its just gonna be a pain

yeah ull have to reach but theres two long rods right nest to each other runnin length wise with the door ull know where they are cause they run from outside door handle to inside door handle... or jus take it to a body shop it happens all the time rebuildin doors most shops can get it open goodones wont charge u... if u was close id do it..

no a good shop wont charge if they do useually its like 20 bucks for a body man and its better than buyin a door panel

dude a body shop will do this for u and it shouldnt be that expensive... id be out the $2o over ruinin a door panel or hell a door it self

If the bodyshop cannot open it they more than likely won't charge you. On my ej I got in started my car and got out to talk to someone, when I went to get back in the door was unlocked but wouldn't open. A police officer slimjimed the passenger door that was locked and I climbed through. I just held the handle and kicked the hell outta the door and it opened. If you are taking apart the door try going through the door handle/lock cover or the arm rest door handle. Each are only held in by one screw and should be easier than laying across the center console and going through the speaker grill.

lol dude take the arm rest or somethin off the panel to acess the door lol no reason to destroy it or "kick it til it opens" or do like i said take it to a bodyshop theres got to be atleast one close to u lol even the maaco i started out at could do this job lol

I didn't mean like kick it til it falls off. And the only thing on the arm rest you can take off is that little panel with the window controls and if I remember correctly there is a metal plate under there so Idk if you can reach anything.

BTW if you are gonna try and kick it...Please don't kick it from the outside. Nobody wants to be seen in a beater.

a bodyshot wont touch me.. i have went to like 8 shops. i might just have to call acura & honda and see what they said.. i will tell you this much. i'm sick of getting in and out of my like damn a nascar driver!!
