car repair (isnsurance) question

i got hit in the tahoe, other guys fault.. they are fixing it, got that confirmed today. Once a auto is involved in a accident, it shows up on carfax, and the value goes down. What is it called when the insurance pays the victim of the accident to make up for that diffrence? I really need to make sure that gets taken care of for me!
