ok i have a 93 civic with the D15...auto...however i am putting a 5speed in it as soon as i get the time. I also have a K&N Drop in filter, i really cant complain with the 35 or so mpg im getting but i would like to get a little more.

I know that the 5 speed will help, but i was wondering if adding a header and a catback exhaust would help the mpg?

Also wondering if there was much difference in the "name brand" or just the ebay knockoffs...

Thanks

tune it to run 15.5:1 an you will get 40-45mpg

Adding a header & catback exhaust will not really affect MPGs.

Honestly I wouldn't waste money on bolt-ons for the D15 homie, just a waste of time.

ah the joys of the traffic free blue ridge!!! lol i wouldn't waste time trying to get better gas mileage out of something that's already getting 35 mpg..

not nesc true. The more efficient the engine the better it will be on fuel economy

Exactly...It will help give it better flow an little stress off the motor, to allow more power, people cant believe thatmy COBRA got 25 mpg but you got to understand with more power the less it takes to move it, an less throttle...good luck :goodjob:

yeah i had a 95 4door civic with basic bolt ons and just a muffler not full cat back with the same motor and it got 40-42 somehow=\. Again i cant complain with the gas mileage its getting now but i cant help but to strive for more lol. I thought of doing a B16 swap in it but im not really looking to do much with this car but drive it back and forth to college.

Anyone know of anything else that may help and also just a thought...is the drop in filter sufficient or would a CAI be better?

i get a minimum of 30mpg with a b18b integra engine in my 93 civic hatch. I easily got 33+ every tank when i had a larger exhaust with no muffler, but that sucked. an exhaust will give you a few mpg's

lol.

true though. did that after gas skyrocketed w/ hurricane katrina and i had to drive to florida. 42mpg on a turbo civic was nice.

i hear ya man, even today i traded out my Lexus for a 93 Civic. I find myself trying to see how far my gas mileage can rather than how fast i can get to my destination
