So i personally have always prefered Lamborghini over Ferrari... i don't know why but for some reason i have always pictured Ferrari as the generic exotic that everyone spits out when they think of winning the lotto, and that Lamborghini has more cool factor then Ferrari. So my question is a brand question on which MAKE you would prefer??? I like rides by both but if I had to choose to purchase a new base model of either I think it would have to be Lamborghini.

lambo all the way..i've just always had a thing for them. Only a handful of ferrari's i actually care for

but the other day while visiting both stores with friends that are techs..i noticed that at Ferrari, all the cars being worked on looked liked they came straight from a museum and were to be driven right backed and parked.

at lamborghini, a good few of the cars had scrapes from, modified, rock chips on the front..these supercars were actually being driven

Funny thing is Ferrari is going to be about its racing before anything else. I think you see that in them than in any other car company period. Every time I read something about a new car coming out they are always comparing it to a Ferrari. The only reason they sell Ferrari's to the public is to back there racing. It is arguable that they have the best racing history ever. Another reason I prefer a Ferrari is that your not going to see one every day. For every Ferrari you'll probably see about 5 Lamborghini's and 20 Porsche's. Thats just my 0.02

I would have to say Ferrari, based on the fact that it is truly Italian. Lamborghini still has it's Italian roots, but is not longer full blooded Italian like it once was. It's been tainted with German hands.

I love both carmakers, but I just have to go with the tru Italian one being Ferrari. Plus I like the F-50 and Enzo better than the Diablo or Murciealgo, although I still like them.

The Ferrari name is just unduplicated and overall an amazing looking car that has stuck true to it's history for many many years.

Thanks for the definition but I'm fully aware of what ignorant means. Not knowing that Porsche has over 20,000 wins in various race series is hardly a reason to call someone ignorant. There is always someone more knowledgeable so I guess were all ignorant to some extent. Sometimes i just dont get you...but, oh well!

Me personally, i'd take a Ferrari.

Why?, cause i could care less about how much poon a car can get me. I had the fastest car in my high school and the best part to me was that no one knew it was mine for months.

I guess i see a car as a driving machine 1st and don't care about anything else.

+ Heritage and pedigree mean something to me and no brand has more of it then Ferrari. Not even Porsche. Not many people know that Enzo never wanted to make street cars but was convinced by Luigi Chinetti. Otherwise, we would be buying Ferrari power tools to fund the F1 team.

That's ignorant as hell. Porsche has over 20,000 victories in almost ever series. More then the next three combined.

Neither of them can win the greatest ever.

Porsche racing didn't start with Porsche, it started with Mercedes and the SSK.

Ferrari raced Fiats when they dominated in the 1910's and years Later Started the Scuderia Ferrari Alfa Romeo team.

Remember that Le Mans in 1931-1935 was won by Enzo's Alfa 8c 2300.

Even looking at the European championship of the 30's.

The Nazi sponcered Porsche Auto Union GP cars were up against the Alfa 8C Monza from Ferrari and Nuvolarii.

You cant call a winner between the two. Their histories go back more than 100 years and will continue to.

Because just like Bentley, Mercedes Benz, Peugeot, Miller, and Jaguar. There histories will never be forgotten just cause today they arnt like the old days.

Ferrari>Lambo. I agree with what people say about Ferrari's always seeming to be garage queens and not road cars. Personally I wouldn't have any problems personally driving a F430 as a DD personally I believe that a car is not meant to be kept in a garage to simply be looked. Cars are meant to be driven. Manufacturers spend millions of dollars and man hours in R&D for a car and for ANY owner of ANY car to not drive the car simply defeats the purpose and is a waste of the companies time and money.

all of this BS talking about Germans let me post some facts... thats right bitches \/

The most succesful driver at Le Mans of all time, Tom Kristensen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Kristensen). He has won the race eight times.

In 2000 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans), 2001 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans), and 2002 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans) he won the 24 Hours at Le Mans race with the powerful Audi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi) R8 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_R8_Race_Car) along with Frank Biela (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Biela) and Emanuele Pirro (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emanuele_Pirro), becoming the first three drivers since Jacky Ickx (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacky_Ickx) in 1977 to win the race on three straight occasions. In 2003 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans), he won the race with Bentley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentley_Motors_Limited). In 2004 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans), he equaled Ickx's record of six Le Mans victories in Team Goh's Audi R8. 2005 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2005_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans) saw Kristensen win a record seventh time with an American (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States) R8 entry. The 2006 race (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans) saw Kristensen finishing in third place in the new diesel-powered Audi R10 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi_R10). Kristensen didn't finish the 2007 race (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans) following Capello's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rinaldo_Capello) crash while the car was leading the race by eight laps. But Kristensen returned in 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_24_Hours_of_Le_Mans) to claim an eighth victory. [3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Kristensen#cite_note-lemans2008-2)

The most succesful marque at Le Mans of all time

By far the most successful marque in the history of the race is Porsche (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche), who have taken 16 overall victories, including seven in a row from 1981 to 1987. Ferrari follows with nine, also including six in a row from 1960 to 1965, while Jaguar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_%28car%29) has seven wins. Bentley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentley), Alfa Romeo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfa_Romeo), and Ford (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Motor_Company) all managed to win four races in a row, with Bentley recording two other victories in other years as well. Recently the Audi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audi) marque has dominated the event, winning in eight of the ten years they have participated. Audi and Team Joest have had two hat-tricks, the first being in 2000, 2001, and 2002.

all of this BS talking about Germans let me post some facts... thats right bitches

Problem #1.
You do realize in 1970 the GT40 was banned by the ACO. Now im not saying that the 917 wasn't gonna be faster.......but the KG Salzburg car that won the race was powered by a 4.5 liter due almost all of the 4.9 litre cars retiring. I think that if the GT40 was allowed to compete for 1 more year. It might have been a different result. I think this because the 1969 G.R. Gt40 had completed 27 more laps than did the 1970 917. Granted different race strategy and possible weather could have slowed the cars but 1970 was still a development year for the 917s.

Problem #2. When Ferrari sold the majority share to Fiat in 1969, under contract the only thing he could participate in fully was Formula 1. That is why the last factory backed Le Mans racers came in 1972.

But yeah, for the most part, the Germans own Le Mans.

Ferrari. Hands down, and pretty much for many of the reasons that have been mentioned already. Ferrari's motorsports pedigree speaks for itself, imo. Quite a few of their road cars have been homologation specials, rather than cars designed for the street and then modded for the track.

Ferrucio Lamborghini should have stuck to tractors.

Would not want a F430, but a older Ferrari or something else. Gallardo's are really good daily driven Lambos and exotics, I LOVE Murci's, would choose that over a Gallardo except more $$. Ferrari is more of a race brand, but Lambo screams sex.

ferrari has always been about racing cars. enzo built road cars to pay for the race team.
still is to this day.

lambo built tractors then cars.

to me there is no choice ferrari all the way.

I like both because they represent different ideas in going about a car.

This thread is kinda lame since none of us have a Lamborghini or a Ferrari. But actual owners are pretty sensitive toward each. I know Jeremy Clarkson owned both.

A Ferrari 355 and a Gallardo.

He sold the 355 but it was his favorite car of all time.
He sold the Gallardo cause he got tired of people looking at him all the time.

Also... My last name is Ferrara....Ferrari.....yea...I'm Italian alright. :goodjob:

I've always liked Ferrari much better. Lamborghinis have slowly become cars for attention whores IMO. People that buy them usually put huge heavy chrome rims on them and park them next to their Hummer H2. Ferrari makes car in red, yellow, black, etc. while Lambo has glow in the dark orange, lime-green, along with other wtf colors.

And I prefer RWD over AWD anyday.

It seems to me that a Ferrari is the standard "millionaire's car" and is only good when it is either being driven around a track or being looked at through multiple inches of glass. While that's not a bad thing - the being raced at, not the being gawked at - you could probably only enter in 5, 10, maybe 20 races in a year if you don't have to work much? And even if all those races were 3-day affairs, that's only 60 days that you would get to use your car, which is pretty ****ty for the ~$200,000 investment.

Now Lamborghinis, on the other hand, seem to have been built with the intention of geeting you as much tail as humanly possible. They're as flamboyant as Jack McFarland at a pride parade, sound louder than a tornado through multiple bullhorns, and are saturated in colors that would cause an unborn child to go blind in the womb. Sure they can drive nicely around a track too, but that's not why they were made - hell, even Lamorgini himself realize this and thusly announced that they wouldn't make race cars, although for different reasons.

Thusly, comparing the two is kinda like comparing apples and oranges. On the one hand you have the Ferrari, the car for people who want other people to know they have money, who are racecar drivers who feel that Porsche is still Nazi owned and operated, or who are elitist, pretentious, snobbish douchebags who like to rub their non-knowledge of racing history and borrowed racing pedigree in other people's faces, and there's the Lamborghini, which is made to loudly roam the streets getting you as much tail as possible.

Since I'm not (yet) a racecar driver, and I'm not pretentious, and I would like to get the most tail possible, I'll take a Lambo please. But if I could choose any car, I'd take a GT3 RS.

Ok fine there are a few exceptions to the rule. But for the majority of all makes and models, they will depreciate. Some will do it faster than others, but 99% will depreciate.

Well I don't mean investment in the standard sense, I mean you paid $200,000 to drive one. Also, don't most Ferraris appreciate in value? Wouldn't that mean that were you to lease one they would pay you? Most likely not, but still.

You gotta watch what has a chance and take a risk.....you seen Buick GNX prices?

You'd be surprised about allot of Ferrari and Porsche specials.

A Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale is worth more now as a lighly used car than it was new. Same will be said about the Porsche 911 gt3 rs and the Gallardo SL

But yeah, regular street cars...... :2cents: down the drain.

Personally I like to do things backwards. People say Ferrari's are the true motorsports cars and Lambo's are all show and arn't built off of championship winning platforms etc. On that note i'd have a Lambo track car and a Ferrari daily driver...that way I could go to all the Ferrari club events and whoop ass.
Also I cannot stand the attitude and stereo type of a large majority of the people who track their Ferrari's. You can pretty much count on them being with 100% douche bags or 100% slow or BOTH. If you went to a Ferrari day in a midly set up E30 with a stock M20 motor and weight reduction I bet you could easily destroy 3/4ths of the field.
