Well it's an 04 GTO w/ 32k miles didn't really care about ls2 or not since this is my DD since I have a 400+whp 240sx for fun. I would like to thank collins for helping me out with all his Goat wisdom etc. Good night :camera:

Funny my friend blew his 04 gto bottom end apart with 8psi on an sts kit :thinking:

However now has 6.0 iron block/zo6 heads/zo6cam/80mm turbo/meth and runs 10.80 @ 144 :bump:

But ANYWAYS sharp car!!!

i guarantee you it wasnt tuned properly. ;) ls motors can handle the 8psi without ANY problems. now, you go much more than that, and you start having issues... but hell, when 8psi puts you in the 650 range, who needs more? :dunno:

what size was the original turbo? and who tuned it? 8psi is reliable on a stock ls1...i plan on going sts or aps next year, beat the **** out of it, and then rebuild, and that z06 cam was a waste of time and money...theyre useless

and dont worry about the mpg...you will probably see 18+ since its stock..hell i avg 16.5 with my cam, exhaust, and the heavy ass 18's

i dont get it, i drive mine 17mi one way to work 4 days a week, now granted i am in search of a dd to get a headstart on the extensive down time im going to face next year, but for now i drive this car everyday

A GTO is a fine daily driver. My friends 04 gets mid - upper 20's on the highway and like 18 in the city.

I love driving it. They are nice, big, comfortable cars that still get the hell outta the way whenever you push the go pedal.

people act like a gto gets 4 gallons to the mile and comes standard as a 6 second 1200hp pro drag car....its a modern v8 car that weighs in under 2 tons....stock gets in the area of 20mpg, or more if driven moderately, like i said, im cammed with exhaust and dragging around 18's and i still get 16.5mpg during the summer, i can shoot upwards of 18-19 during the winter, so i dont see any reason why he cant get 20+...stock for stock its comparable to your xrunner, so whats the big deal?

but to the OP nice ride man, still a gas guzzlin DD but very nice choice. a buddy of mine just got one of the 6.0 GTOs. they are no joke, neither are the 5.7's.

not to burst your apparent vast knowledge of mustangs, but they were available in the first production model mustangs that rolled out of plants starting march 9th, 1964....commonly known as 64 and a halfs......22k mustangs were sold on day one, and over a million in the first 2 years, it'd be safe to say there were more than just a few sporting the the old 170ci straight six...inlcuding the pagoda green 64.5 vert i helped restore in 1999 while working for Forsyth Street Auto in Macon

i grew up in a mustang family, partially learned to drive stick on a 67 coupe with a 289 and 4 in the floor, i drive a pontiac gto and still have a subscription to muscle mustangs and fast fords for gods sake....i know mustangs ;) which is why i said its been done since day one :boobies:

I don't think of the GTO other than a nice DD ;) I love Driving in it but it's slow haha. Been looking at Turbo Kits all day at work but I am not allowed to mod this till my 5 year warrenty runs out wife will kill me. These kits are kinda of expensive though I like this one so far.
