So i do ALOT of business on EBAY every month, and they just implemented these new rules which i think are GAY.
So now SELLERS cannot leave NEGATIVE FEEDBACK for BUYERS.
Which means, if you buy an item from me, you can decide to NOT PAY FOR IT and i cant do anything about it.
Heres the problem, EBAY wont let you file a "NON PAYING BIDDER" for 19 days.
But they CHARGE YOU final value fees and listing fees INSTANTLY.
Example:
I sell a Pair of Bride Seats on ebay for $900. I get charged a $5 listing fee and a $35 FINAL VALUE FEE from EBAY that i HAVE TO PAY.
BUYER sends me a message 2 days later saying "I decided i dont want the items".
I have to wait 19 days before i can file a claim to get my money back from ebay.
Used to be you could just leave negative feedback and **** up their EBAY standing in an attempt to make them pay. Or you could do a MUTUAL reversal. But now they have taken all that away.
So now i have to pay EBAY $40 for something someone backed out of cause DoucheBag changed his mind.
Paypal is even worse, i do $20,000-30,000 a month, but they will hold your money if some guy decides to be a retard.

I hate ebay, but sometimes its the best way to sell. I considered setting up an estore on ebay, and a seperate website for other airride and custom vehicle accessories, but just the upfront costs of the websites will kill my savings before I make my first product order.

i do alot of business on ebay, but i also do alot of business OFF ebay so it balances out. All i know is that EBAY is making their money one way or another, and it seems they are starting to favor the BUYERs not the SELLERs which sucks for me.

I just got started last week, but it seems to be real nice to me. Plus it's nice that it's one price and you can list as many as you want.

yea, i noticed the new rules in my msg inbox. :wtf:
I think this way is better, instead of buyers getting screwed, now we have a little bit more of non-paying bidders and you have to wait a little longer for your money..
Before, I could buy something from someone and it ended up not being what I expected and I couldn't leave negative feedback because they would leave me negative feedback saying "SCAMMER" etc.. even if I paid and did everything a buyer should..
Now, this entices the seller to be honest and do everything to satisfy the buyer, and even give refunds if the item is not as described.. Something that eBay was really bad about..

Well always ask for and address when selling an item. If they don't pay beat their ass.

Well now they have a "Malicious FeedBack" rule or someting of that nature. It states if a buyer s extorting you buy threatening to leave bad feedback if you dont do "x" to satisfy them.
But i guess what bothers me is this:
Ebay owns Paypal
You cant do anything to a BUYER for 19 days on EBAY. You now cant leave negative feedback.
Now, i have had someone buy an ECU from me on ebay on a Friday at 7pm. I respond to them an tell them their item will ship monday. Then the guy does a buyer dispute THAT SUNDAY because he says "he hasnt gotten trackng info". Paypal asks no questions they dont do anything an automatically put a hold on the money.
Ive had someone say i was slow to ship an leave me negative feedback when he won the auction April 16th, i shiped April 17th, and he had the item April 19th. LOL But i cant do ANYTHING to him, my feedback takes a negative strike for him being a complete moron, and there is nothing i can do.
I had someone buy a header from me online, an then say he doesnt want it anymore. I now have to wait 19 days before i can REPORT an unpaid item an recover the $25 in fees i have already paid. I cant even leave negative feedback saying hes a bad seller for buying my item an then not following through.
Just think they could of thought this through a little more. They have now opened it up to alot of dead beat bidders and we cant do anything as sellers about it. IMO.
Ill just have to require everyone to pay instantly now

I don't understand why eBay isn't siding with sellers... thats who they make all their money from. Why are they so worried about benefiting the buyers. Without sellers paying all the rediculous fees they would not be where they are today.

Thats what I always do. I also have a fine print section in each listing that states that I will ship the item within 2 Business days of the end of the auction. I also don't give out tracking info unless the buyer chooses to pay $2.50 extra for "insurance". For the additional $2.50 I will "upgrade" their shipping from "standard" shipping to UPS with insurance and tracking. If they choose standard, I don't give out any info, I just say I will have it shipped within 2 days. I specify all this in each listing to try to cover my own ass...

When I saw that rule i knew there were going to be repercussions.
I think they have inadequate staff for resolving disputes. So they had to find a more efficient way of handling disputes.
Putting it back on the seller?

it may be retarded on your end...but on my end, first time ever having a bad encounter with an ebay seller, i'm glad he can't leave negative feedback. i have had at least 100+ transactions on ebay and this is the first guy i have ever dealt with that cant send to the right address and also claim that i did not pay..whatta douche..
but it does suck on the end of the seller that they cant let other sellers know
