Coupe or Hatch?

Ok so my buddy and i have been arguing on what is hotter for the longest time. I LOVE coupes. old Corolla's, old celica's, fox body mustangs. etc. but he always tries to tell me that Hatches are sexier. i dissagree. so i want to know what the IA community has to say! what is it....coupes or hatches.

I hate you! I had a 850GLT and I loved it. I sold it though and had a POS. But I always wanted a T5-R. ESP a wagon, I love the maroon paint.

i think it all depends on the car...

for older civics hatches.. period don't care what anyone else says.. an eg is sexier than an ej.. (even though i own an ej now!)

but i like the 96-99/00 (whatever year range they were) coupes better than the hatches (civics that is..)

for 240's i like the coupes better than the hatches...

for wrx's i like the wagons better than the sedans (for the most part)

so to me it just all depends on the car/make/year

Depends on the car, but I tend to like non-hatches better, save the 240 and Hachi.

depends on the car, s14' coupes look better than s13 hatches, but the s13 hatches are not bad either, i like mustang hatches and i basically like hatch's period. it brings out the meaning of sports car, 3000gts, stealths, celicas, etc......... i would like hatches



but when it is narrowed down to civics i like the coupe better than the hatches. the body style on a hatchback civic is ugly to me. just my o2

Coupe for cars that offer both. Hatch only cars tend to pull of hatch very well though as do coupe-only cars so those can go either way.

P.S. the C5 Corvette hatch looks better than the coupe to me even though a coupe is lighter and all Z06s are coupes.

This isn't always true. IIRC, the BMW 5-series wagons, either the E34 or E39 chassis, were stiffer in torsion than the sedan. I think the same was true of Volvo's wagons. In fact, Volvo supplied race teams with 740 Turbo wagons for a spec racing series that ran in support of either DTM, or BTCC races (if I'm wrong about the series someone surely will correct me).
