View Full Version : My EG Hatch Build Thread

bafbrian

I recently purchased a EG Hatch from smrlsvtec (Jay). I have been wanting a EG for quite a while and with the current gas prices, I figured why not go ahead and get this one to build.

To start, this car will take some time, so bare with me. Things are really gonna get going when school starts and I get more money.

Here she is:

She isn't much to look at now, but I hope to change all that soon.

I got a LSV powering my black Civic in the pic. Gonna take the motor out of that and put it in the hatch.

Then, gonna strip the coupe and me and my uncle are gonna turn it into a drag car. :D

Not much of an update but, I was trying to figure out what color to paint the engine bay. After seeing a few other cars with the Battleship Grey engine bay, I was thinking the same thing.

But, I am tore between the the car's color, blue, the Battleship Grey, or perhaps Black. IDK which, so I am looking to get some ideas from you all.

I say paint the bay the same as the rest of the car. just my :2cents: ...anyway good starting point

Good start for a project! I would also keep the engine bay the same color as the rest of car.

That is my uncle's Integra. Got my aunt and uncle to switch from Ford to Honda.

Thanks for the opinions guys, I am gonna stick with Blue. Had someone do a few photoshops pics for me and the Blue came out the best.

Gonna clean it up tomorrow and snap a few pics.

Grants ftw.

Well, if all goes according to plan, with my money from the Army and school, I am gonna be somewhere in the area of $10K. Definitely not gonna spend it all on the car. Most will go towards gas with the current prices.

UPDATE:

Here and just a few pics of the hatch. Got a before and after of the engine bay of some cleaning.

Before:

After:

Big Picture After:

http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/149/img0074kq8.jpg

I know, the pictures are at different angles and varying levels of light. Just have to take my word for it that engine bay is much cleaner.

I plan to remove everything in the bay so I can repaint it for a better overall appearance.

Thanks for looking.

Here is a little something for everyone for later tonight.

Worked on the car before relaxing for the 4th Of July.

Here are the pics:

First had to get everything together that I would need to clean out the interior.

Now, for the Interior (After)

http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/4315/img0032cx6.jpg

And the mess I sucked outta the car...UGH!!!

http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/5059/img0031gi7.jpg

All in all, it was a good day. I got a lot of work completed.

Unfortunately, this is as far as I will be able to go until July 27th when I come back from Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. By that time, I will have enough money to get all the interior parts, minus the carpet.

Until next time. :D

The coupe is alright, but it looked better before my accident.

As for the Hatch, got the coilovers separated and trying to fit them to my current suspension.

Been a minute since I have posted in here about the status of the car.

I managed to get the brake prop, MC, and corresponding brake lines out. Been researching on HT for the info on doing a SS Brake and Fuel Line conversion.

Also, anyone who keeps up with this thread, could you take the photos off the 1st post and PS the car a dark green, similar to SOHCturbo's Civic / the Honda/Acura dark green.

Got more work done to the car over the last week. Managed to removed 99% things in the engine bay. Just gotta prep the bay for paint.

I need some pointers on prepping the engine bay for paint. I will not be painting the firewall as it will have heat insulation on it. Any help it greatly appreciated.

I will have pics posted up later today when I get home.
