What defines rice?

I got into a friendly argument last night with a guy at a bar regarding my car. He is definitely not a car guy, but felt compelled to tell me that my car was a ricer. That got under my skin a bit and I proceeded to tell him all the ways my car was not rice. After I convinced him that it was not rice I got to thinking myself....what defines rice? I know the park bench wings, the lime green paint with tribal graphics, the over the top colored interior.....they all scream rice. But what defines rice to you all? :thinking:

in my opinion there is no true definition of rice. reason being, everyone has their own interpretation of rice. some say body kits, wings, neons are rice. others will say that those things are just something that is synonomous with show cars. othres say that that certain paint jobs are rice. all again depends on that person interpretation. everyone has their own definition of what is rice and what is not.

hell, the way things are going. the whole scene could do a reverse and go back to body kits, neons, wings, etc. and everyone saying that the whole "JDM/OEM" look is played out.

if one person says one thing is rice, another might say its bad ass. so you can never give a true definition of rice as its to each their own.
