Does anyone have an opinion on Kenwood products? Mostly their subs. Their super woofer claims 3000 watts peak power. I haven't heard of anybody with their subs though.

I have always liked them and the Kenwood Outlet has good prices right off Jimmy Carter access rd. BUT I have heard many people say they have lost their quality in the past 10 years or so. I still like them though.:goodjob:

peak power means ****. Look at them then take off 25% and thats the amount of clean power to give it. I would guess smewhere in the area of 1kw before you blow it up.

I havent heard a single kenwood sub or speaker that even sounded decent, so I would avoid anything with the name "super" as its more about marketing than anything else.

it says 3000w MAX but whats the RMS but im pretty sure RMS on that thing is only like 900w rms to 1000w rms at the most..........im running a Kicker 10" solo X 2008 model and its 5000 w MAX and i need a amp with consistence of 2500w rms

max power doesnt mean really anything. if you think of a subwoofer as a car, then the wattage is the same as rpms the car can rev too. horsepower is the displacement, stroke is the same as sub excursion, and piston size is the cone area.

volume displacement is the surface area times the electrical movement of the driver.

I know its more about rms than peak power. I've just always been fan of their headunits and didn't know how their subs worked. But I have an opportunity to get their products fairly cheap (got a friend that works for a distributor :).

Im not a big fan of there subs.. Ive had more kenwood subs come back to me then anything. There sub levels are misleading. they boast about there big max power but there RMS isnt crap. They dont hold up very long at all, Plus ive never really heard any kenwoods that sound good. but to each is own i guess.. id spend your money on something worth while.

Kenwood subs, speakers, and amps ftmfl but their screens are top notch (wwaaayyy better than Pioneer imho lol). I would not recomend any of kenwoods subs, use the money on something different.

These subs are made not to blow. THe cone is kevlar. ( i think) hell try them out dont like them then sell them

The cone isn't what you have to worry about. Audiobahn used to make subs with aluminum cones and they blew all the time. The thing you have to worry about is the voice coils.

I have loved their head units. I got some 3way 6.5 door speakers for my S10 and liked them. My only complaint is I had some Infinity 4x6 speakers in the dash so I had too much tribble.

I did have a Kenwood 2way Amp (420rms combined) going to a JL Audio W3v2 that sounded great.

I have heard their subs where not great but speakers/head units were great with decent amps.
