I use a shop in north Atlanta off of Cheshire Bridge. They do some incredible work, and they're one of my customers, so I like to promote them. :)

The place is called "Your Body Shop" and the number is 404.817.0833

Example of their work:

They did the lenses:

Front bumper & headlights:

Side skirts:

They also did some work for "Anthony F" which he was very pleased with!

wish more ppl thought like that, instead of thinking that every car has to be just like everyone else and someone elses car should be up to the standards of other ppl instead of the owner. +reps ant

And like I said in the PM, that's not JUST to shave your door handles and install a body kit, that's a full respray. That price is on the low side for a full respray.

just do it yourself? just have dremel and that cone sanding bit at the end.and if you get a bodykit get the plastic type not fiberglass.you will regret it after its painted and it brakes easy.

i shaved my handles, did my body kit and molded it all myself..even put the lambo doors on myself..its easy just patients

dude .. why would you want to do a full body respray ? all you have to do is remove the doors and paint them. a full body repaint is not called for

best thing to do,so the paint will match..alot of times with fiberglass bumpers the paint looks alot differnt than the rest of the car..unless you get full base/clear and good buff..

im not even going to attempt self installation ... way to hard to make it look good

frostbyte
06-19-2008, 08:46 PM
shoot u dont even remove them that to risky on gettin doors to line up right u jus scuff the door quarter and fender paint the door and clear the side of the car to ensure a good match on gloss

frostbyte
06-19-2008, 08:48 PM
hell u dont even have to do that u can get away with a inpanel blend...and be done with it...

frostbyte
06-19-2008, 08:51 PM
no plastick bumpers look different because they start off black so it darkens the base throwin the clor off. u can even fix that on a plastic bumper seal it white first then paint but every body shop out there is too lazy to do it they would rather use the oh uhh uhh uhh pumpers look darker see that 08 evo over there the reds dont match and its new... blah blah blah yeah its new it wont match but u was paid to prime seal and paint ...

So call Maaco and see what they can do for you.

Apparently there was confusion as to what you wanted, because he won't charge you near that much for a little bit of work.

Take it up with him, not me. I work for myself, not them.

$8,000 for a color change. Not a scuff and shoot.

smh no body shop on a car with a decent glossy paint job is gonna do any thing but
1: scuff car with a grey scotch brite and water.
or
2: hit it with a da with some 600
either or theyll be done in 2hours tops with the sandin then u add any color..

You forgot the part about dropping the engine, cleaning the engine bay, removing the glass and rubber, cleaning the jams, etc.

frostbyte
06-19-2008, 09:15 PM
so as you can see all there is wrong with my message is grammer. sorry seriously a good respectable shop could do this job right and it turn out near perfect for 3000 and get a fair profit and a good customer in return but, that much is one simple reason body shops are as slow as hell right now and they are tryin to pay an entire months bills with one car because they all are so stupid they offer a promised amount of hours to body men that are jus standin around doin nothin.
