Hyundai Genesis Coupe To Appear in Fast and Furious 4

NEW YORK — It's no secret that the movie Fast and Furious 4 is already confirmed for production and that the new Nissan GT-R will have a starring role. But as the production powerhouse sets about gathering other vehicles, sources at Hyundai told Inside Line today at the 2008 New York Auto Show that Universal came to Hyundai asking for its new rear-wheel-drive Genesis Coupe to be part of the action.

Although Fast and Furious 4 isn't scheduled for release until the summer of 2009, Hyundai has already committed to providing a red turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder Genesis Coupe SE to the mix.

Returning cast members include Paul Walker and Vin Diesel.

Interesting that Universal came to Hyundai...
Hyundai's starting to gain a little respect out there from what I've seen. :ninja:

GK, look at the way a real cars earns respect. Its not in a F&F movie.

Just look at the Honda NSX (http://www.importatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179879) thread i made.

Just look at the 3rd pic in that thread, Zakspeed is located right outside Flugplatz turn at the ring.

When is Hyndai gonna realize where a real drivers car proves itself and joins the other ring rats like Bmw, Porsche, Aston Martin, Nissan, Subaru, Honda, Mercedes, and G.M.?

You're jumping the gun here... never once have I claimed (nor has Hyundai claimed) that the Genesis coupe is a "real driver's car" as you say. Of course those manufacturers make great cars for the track -- BMW and Porsche have built their legacy around racing teams: something Hyundai obviously doesn't have yet.

This thread was never boasting about the Genesis' drivability.

It's about a ****ing car in a ****ing movie.

Nothing more, nothing less.

The bottom line: 10 years ago, there wasn't a film studio on earth that would've wanted a Hyundai of all things in one of their movies.

I think its funny how all of the new cars are supposed to be in FnF4 like the 08 sti, gtr, and genesis, but the movie takes place before tokyo drift.

Fast and the furious......hyundai.....seem to fit pretty well to me. Gives me one more reason not to see that train wreck of a series

I dunno about that. Think about if the S13s were made by a Hyundai...sure they might be RWD cars with a 2.4 liter engine....but it still rocks a Hyundai badge. I think the 240 wouldn't have sold as much if it didn't have Nissan's badge and racing heritage to back it up.

Mitsubishi still has the AWD in the 90s and 2ks. :) which is FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!
