Looking for a lil last minute advice.

Got pulled for doing 81 in a 55 getting on 400 by GSP. Officer dropped the ticket to 69 in a 55. My question is this. Is there anyway of keeping this from getting on my insurance? What's the best way to handle this?

Ed

13 over does not go on your insurance.

no points either.

I believe its 14 and under don't go on license or insurance. So no reason in going to court really, just pay the fine, they only want the money anyway. I've had 3 tickets dropped to 14 over and just had to pay the fine. (they were originally 19,25 and 21 over)

i've had 3 tickets that were reduced to 14 over, and i used to be an insurance agent, and none of those 3 ever showed up in my policy.

:lmfao:

I was pulled over a while back and the cop dropped it to 14 over for me. He told me that 15 over and higher goes on the insurance. Some cops will lower their bouche'ness just enough to give you that break, this GSP did it for you. You still pay the ticket, but avoid the insurance hassle.

being under 21, you only have to go to court for major violations exceding 4 points

Georgia Drivers License Point system
Violations of Georgia driving law will result in points being assessed to your driving record as shown below:

Violation / Points

Reckless Driving - 4 points
Unlawful passing school bus - 6 points
Improper passing on hill or curve - 4 points
Speeding:
15 mph but less than 19 mph - 2 points
19 mph but less than 24 mph - 3 points
24 mph but less than 34 mph - 4 points
34 mph or more - 6 points
Disobedience of any traffic-control device or traffic officer - 3 points
Possessing an open container of an alcoholic beverage while driving - 2 points
Failure to adequately secure a load - 2 points
All other moving violations - 3 points
Child restraint - 1st offense - 1 point
Child restraint - 2nd and subsequent offense - 2 points
Aggressive driving (A conviction of aggressive driving by a person under 21 years of age will result in a suspension of the driver's license.) - 6 points
HOV lane violation - 4th and subsequent offense. - 1 point

...

Most courts will offer to reduce your speed by 3 to 5 mph in return for a guilty plea. This is important since a 14mph or under speeeding ticket will not be posted to your record and not increase your insurance premiums.

I had an accident which the insurance company said would be ignored as far as rates since it was my first accident. Then I got a 29 over which was dropped to 19 over and my insurance only went up $80 every 6 months.

Kourt
06-17-2008, 12:51 PM
Okay so IF it is points which I know its NOT because I have had 3 and my insurance didn't change. (and I even called my agent about it so they know I have them)
If 15-19 over is 2 points then 14 and under should be 1 point right?? What the hell will that do to insurance anyway? .63 cent a month?? WOW big deal. You have nothing to worry about.

If you are really worried about it though, when you go to court talk to the DA, he/she will advise you what to do and can tell you if it will affect you.

you should save your no lo for something a bit more drastic. no lo would prevent points from going to your license (would not prevent suspension, in case yuo ever got something that would suspend it) and you can only use it one time every 5 years.

Dui is chargeable for 5 years, a normal ticket is for 3 years. Also the dui class help to get the point off your DL , insurance will still surcharge you as normal!!

I've almost been in 3 fist fights with people at work and yet I get these lectures about profesionalism and then on top of all that I sit outside 10 out of 13 hours i work everyday and have nothing to show for it but when i see a way to make money off a customer that somebody else decides they don't want to deal with anymore i can't :2up: . Sh!t doesn't make any sense. Part of the reason I took this job was so that I could get another car and my dad said he was gonna help me out but once again my mom's personal life screw ups get in the way. I'm probably just gonna go and clock in everyday and not try and sell anything and just collect a regular check and say :2up: .

Huh. Roommate has been looking for Insurance. Has USAA right now. They only factored his one 17+ ticket into his premium, not the 12+ or the 14+ tickets. Last week when we talked to a Progressive agent, they only factored in the 17+ even though we told them about all three.

Allstate did the same thing.

State Farm didn't charge him for any of them.

Geico charged him for the 17+ and then a "Surcharge" for having a imperfect driving record, which they said was for having even just one speeding ticket, but wasn't just because he had more than one.

So what company do you work for? Because I want to make sure I never get insurance from you.
