Rode down to Reynolds last night, and while I was sitting in the staging lanes, I overheard two guys talking in a civic next to me. They were discussing how headlamp wattage reflects horsepower. Apparently if you have your headlights on, and the bulbs are 150 watts or higher, it will rob you of some horsepower and make your car slower.
I must say....... I've been to three world's fairs, and a goat ****ing, and I've never heard anything like that.

Original poster speaks the truth... . I was giving this LS1 FD the BUSINESS one race in my EF (B16 on a big shot)... then I accidentally hit the left blinker after the 2 - 3 shift, and he blew right on by.

Stock headlights are usually b/t 30-80w per bulb

^^ No - it was bc of the silverstars and hyper-ion blinkers and sidemarkers. Duh. We lined up again w/ the lighting fuses pulled and I walked him by 6.

The real question is...... If your traveling at the speed of light and you turn on your headlights, what will happen'??

I'd be more worried about the added weight from a passenger than the headlight wattage any day.

Two 55w halogen bulbs being off would only free up all of 1/10th of a horsepower.
