I have to appear in court next week for a charge against me. I was wondering if anyone knew the name of the document you file that allows more time to find for an attorney. What do you plea? What do you ask for?

Thanks in advance guys

To be honest man ive never had the balls to show up in court without my lawyer with a charge against me, he does all the talking really... aside from a few things. I dont know what to tell you but im bumping this up just a bit more, and good luck!

You can ask for a reset in order to seek council.

that is what i was looking for, thanks!

just trying to get my money situation sorted to pay for my lawyer, don't want to go in debt. stupid st. patty's day speed traps causing me to go in debt

haha, for anyone wondering i have a 95 in a 70 and I am under 21, i cannot lose my license as i need it for school and work. guess time to extort the legal system so i don't have to pay the time for my crime.

95 in a 70 isn't terrible. If this is your first one, which I surmise it might not be, just take defensive driving ahead of the court date, then on that day speak to the solicitor, explain that you're an idiot and youre sorry, and that learned from your mistake. If they're not total cunts they'll more than likely drop it to 84 in a 70 so it doesn't go on your record.

From 95 down to 84? Maybe, maybe not. It will really depend on his previous record, the county, solicitor, etc.

I dunno how much help a lawyer will be, but he can try. He might get just as far with the solicitor...

I had two tickets that I went to court for on the same day, 53 in a 35 and 82 in a 55. So, it could happen :).

Both got dropped to only 14 over.
