Some shots I did of my band...Trees Outstretched for Miles. First shots of a group I've done with my new Alien Bees strobe. I think I'd be a little happier with another AB to the left at half power as a fill.

Well, if nothing else, the man has balls for posting these pics. I have a feeling this thread will become epic very soon.

I am guessing you want opinions from an artistic standpoint instead of the "I act like I'm still in high school and would beat you up for wearing that" comments.

Nice choice for lighting equipment Alienbee makes great stuff. Instead of another Alienbee for fill flash what about a white board or some kind of reflector? You could also use a cheaper flash like one of the Nikon SB flashes. You can get one for under $100.

I am not a fan of the background. It looks like you are locked in a public storage. If you are looking locations in Atlanta I can give you some suggestions.

Hey guys...

wow didn't realize this was going to become so epic. We aren't really a band per ce, just a group of guys that rent out a storage shed in newnan to play music every once in awhile. Trees Outstretched For Miles is a noise/art project of the guy in the middle, Rob, and we back him up sometimes. The locale is a joke because thats where we practice. I just had my camera up there so we took a couple of shots cause I hadn't shot any people with the AB yet. But feel free to create any story that is funnier.

I have an SB600 but I have had sync issues with the AB. Using the SB as a slave, I have not been able to have them line up. The AB is going off slightly after. Any suggestions?

I love to get some help on lighting if there are some knowledgeable folks out there. But its obviously a ridiculous picture, so hey whatever makes you laugh.

We play all types really. The two guys on the left were in a band called Willow, who was an instrumental post-rock band that broke up last year. I was in a similar band called The Walthall Tango that was based in Macon. The shows we have played as TO4M are primarily just improv/noise/post-metal and end up kinda sounding like Isis/MONO.

Definitely have to say that style is not my cup of tea man but i support all musicians regardless.

Out of all of those i probably like wathal tango the most. Willow isn't too bad either but I they lose me on the long intros. To4m just goes totally over my head. ha.

The link to my band is in my sig but i'll post it up anyway. I guess you could say that we're a punk based band that likes to dip into as many different genres as we can: www.myspace.com/apobmusic

the trees stuff is just the guy in the middle messing around. when "we" play live its all improv. I've got a ton of Walthall Tango cds, if you were interested in hearing more. I'll be happy to send on your way if you were interested. And that goes for anybody else, free cds if you want. We'll call it an IA special.

Oh and let me know if yall are ever playing around...I'm always up for a show. I think we have a show at the end of June, but I'm not sure what band its going to be as.

what the fvcking gay

alright just to clarify again. There is a group of about 10 guys. We meet in a storage shed and play music for fun. There are about 5-6 different projects going on, ranging from improv-noise to progressive metal. I needed to test out a new strobe I got, so I was hey a couple of you go stand in that shed for a minute and lets do a humorous picture so I can see how this thing works. I then post it up with a humorous band name looking for smiles and maybe some critique on the lighting aspects of the shot. :blah: Hope that clears everything up.

Yeah Audios is amazing, the guy on the left is the bassist and they are doing some incredible stuff...and will playing at the Masquerade in a couple of weeks.

The other link is just recordings of bands my friend Matt has done at the shed. We have no connection other than that.
