So.... I've been contemplating about what springs to get and what drop I want.... blah blah blah... Here's what I've come up with.... I cut the stock springs... I cut 1 coil plus 1 inch on the front left the upper stock ISO in place and no bottom ISO. I cut 7/8 of the coil off the rear coil and left both stock ISO's in place. Now.... for those that are curious how it rides.... just like it did before I cut the springs. Now for the pics.... I haven't had a chance to wash it, so sorry for the dirty car, just wanted to show off the drop.

Looks great! but why did you go with the cheap route rather than having something adjustable.

Maybe its just me but cut springs are for cheap cars, not sexy powerful cars like a cobra

To be completely honest no. I thought good camber was part of good handling being as having as much rubber on the pavement gave you more grip.

how was the trip home?

Clipping the springs on the cobra is not the cheap route, its the better one..

Cliped springs > Aftermarket springs..

The reason why it doesn't give you all the negative resluts as other cars is because Cobra's have linear springs..

So, you cut your stock springs instead of actually shelling out the dough to get a decent suspension set up.

Ok, to each his own.

Looks alright.

x2, this isn't like the morons cutting a coil off of their springs on a Honda - its a completely different setup.

I like the white though, looks good on the car.

You don't know what your talking about..

Right.

Notice I didn't mention anything about handling. Just the overall concept and idea is dumb in my opinion...go big or go home.

To each his own...I gave the man props...what else do you need. He posted it up here for comments, I gave it to him.

cobra springs dont loose the spring rate as you cut them, they will still ride like stock, the only reason to upgrade would be for a stiffer rate. Looks sweet by the way

Fair enough.... Don't agree but respect your opinion..

For other cars, I will point and laugh at people that clip springs..

Just know that for the Cobra's, there is a huge dilemma about this and no one really has an answer as to which is the best route.. Clipping the springs can be argued to be overall better..

Thanks for the compliments peeps. :goodjob:

As far as shelling out the dough..... Why waste $250 on a set of springs when I won't loose any ride quality by cutting the stock ones.... ;) That's just an extra $250 to put towards my next mod. :D

Do a search on SVTP and you'll see how many Cobra peeps cut their springs and still manage to cut 1.5 60 foots.....

Once again thamks for the compliments. Many respects

It looks really good like I said at the MCM, but I was thinking, if you want the rear to be a little higher, check out the MM Iso's. I hear they are worth about 1/4" lift over the factory Iso's.

Trip home was long...

and in a sense of taking curves..you want negative camber...in this instance im really not sure what he uses it for. Mustangs are known for straight lines, but I knw that model cobra pulls a .9G on the skid pad so yea..

Neg camber=ftw when it comes to curves...but say goodbye to your tires SO much quicker

I bought Justin's springs on Sunday and fixed it the same day as well. I'm pretty happy with the way it sits now.

werd i guess, I'm ignorant to if their suspension is diff. My friend has coils on his. Rides awesome, and its fully Adj.

Sick cobra anyways!

Your car looks great. I went a simular route and cut 3/4 of a coil all the way around. The car rides and handles great, and I have slightly less than a 2 finger gap at each tire.

That's what I was gonna do but..... I love the way Cobras look with bigger wheels and a decent sized drop. I plan on getting the same wheels I have now but in 18's all the way around..... 10's on the back fo sho!
