STi vs. Pontiac G8

dont really think i belong in here, but here it goes.I was on my way home this afternoon and i was driving down the highway minding my own business when a younger looking guy in a Pontiac G8 pulled up next to me and we get caught at a red light. Then i had a flashback to the F&F days. I looked over at him anf i could tell he said something about my car, b/c his G/F started laughing and looking at me.......then he gave me the lets race nob. the light turns green and he leaves like a bat out of hell ( i wasnt gonna race him )then i got to about 40 and he dropped back and just cruisin beside me jumpin his car back and forth. so i got pissed b/c i was tryin to get over, and dropped to second gear and gave him the race he wanted. on the third honk i pulled by about a car and held it to about 85-90 when i got in front of him and got off on my street. not that amazing of a kill seeing as how i dont really know the specs on this car, but none the less my first kill in the subaru.

depends on which model it is. IF it was the GT version he should have given you a run for your money. If it wasnt then its really nothing special....

its the L76 truck motor in that thing (if its the gt) that puts out about 360ish hp. oh, and it weighs in at over 4000lbs... i HOPE you pulled him. however, dont expect the same result if you line up against a gxp when they come out next year ;)

the GT is a 6.0 isnt that the LS3? negative... the ls3 is a 6.2. the ls2 is a 6.0 but that's not the 6.0 in the gt model... they're saving the ls3 for the gxp model next year.

oooook... so... the part about low compression i cannot verify, however, i think its still an aluminum block. the main difference is the heads and intake manifold. however, ppl have been swapping the heads and manifold over to the ls2's and seeing decent power gains from it.

Just did a little research and the LS2 has 10.9:1 and the L76 passenger car motor has 10.4:1


I was thinking of another motor that Walter (black show s-10) has in his shop, its a truck motor v8, very, very similar to the LS2 but lower compression from stock.
