25 city 36 hwy but that's EPA corrected. :goodjob:
Compared to my work truck it saves me over $200 per week.
Here are my work vehicles. The Jeep averages 16 mpg and the 150 averages 10-12 mpg. Needless to say I won't be driving them quite as often as I use to. :)

It is starting to grow on me a little.

I was spending over $200 a week before I bought this. Now I am spending less than $45 per week and liking it. It is like getting the car for free and still getting money back every month.

I heard the price of Geo Metros is exploding..........really. As much as I do not like Hondas(even though I drive one) I like that body style Civic. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to maintain. Thats like a sore ****...............you can't beat it.

Thanks man but I ain't that proud to be honest. I never thought I would own a Honda but compared to the new car line up this seemed to be the best route for me. Oh well good economical decision IMO.

The only thing that beats it by any margin at all in the "new" car market is the Prius Hybrid and that ain't gonna happen here. So yeah it is very good on gas mileage compared to all the other "new" cars. Your car new did as good as the Prius and I looked at them also but not interested in old junk and preferred something newer/cleaner and more dependable. The only ones I could find had over 200k on them.
Hey the Ford Escort was 36 city 46 hwy but like I said I was looking for something more dependable and not someone else's old junk. What about the Insight getting 48 city 59 hwy? See I did my research and for what I needed this was in the top 3 all around and looks a little better than the new Corrola IMO.
Are you one of those people that finds something wrong with everything that is not yours?
Bottom line is that compared to what I was spending on fuel this thing kicks AZZ! You don't have to like it or be impressed by it, doesn't matter to me what ya think. :D

Man I love our Jeep but I don't care to drive anything that gets less than 27-35 mpg anytime soon.
I heard on the radio that they are predicting gas to be over $6.00 a gallon by the end of the summer.

The mpg on the ex,lx,dx is around 38 hwy, not bad imo, my ex gets about 36-37 average, and my si gets about 28-29, thats why im selling off the si and getting a lx sedan, i want better gas mileage. i would have to get a turbo for the si to squeeze out 300 hp, but the reliability factor isnt there, i would rather get a bimmer or the new dodge challenger or a mustang gt and hook it up.

Just keep in mind that the hybrids are only worth it if you do a lot of stop and go driving. Someone like me who does 35 miles each way to work on the highway would see little to no benefit. It would just run on gas the whole time. A girl here at the office has a Camry hybrid and was suprised the gas mileage was not mind blowing. I told her, "Well you drive on the expressway all the time....you hardly ever use the electric motor"
In ATL or stop and go is where they shine :D
Go get a motorcycle! :goodjob:

I am glad that you pointed that out... I had forgotten all about that part but my guys do stop and go every day for 100-150 miles per day so that works perfectly. I have no reason to drive one. :)

Well, it isn't the car's fault in this case, it is the driver's fault. She just doesn't know how to drive a hybrid. Once you are up to speed, you have to keep feathering the throttle lightly so the electric motor will keep the speed up, not the gas engine. When you push the throttle past a certain point, the gas engine will always come back on and thus use more gas. Do this and you will see a good increase in highway MPG.

JK I don't a lot of junk on a car. I keep em simple as possible like the Civic is now.
I traded for the Mustang like it sits. If it doesn't sell soon it will look clean as my others.
Oh and no offense taken. I have a small cowl hood, gallon of paint and a nice set of wheels for a quick fix.
Here are a few that we have and have done ourselves.

My moms has a camry hybrid, got 38mpg going up to my grandmothers in Dilliard, Ga. Its a lot of hwy but its all up hill. People knocking on the mileage have to remember what you came FROM to what you have now. When you are used to driving fuel efficient vehicles its not "great."
BUGMAN, big :goodjob: to actually helping the American economy. It might be a Jap car but it was probably assembled here in the good ol USA, unlike most Ford, GM, or Dodge cars. Enjoy the mileage.
In 2009 and 2010 GM plans to close down 4 plants, 2 of which are in the USA. Not going to retool them to help produce gas friendly or gas free vehicles, just shut them down. I believe its the truck/SUV plants state side. According to CNN.com

Nice car ! COngrats on the purchase.
My little cousin has one, Black EX and its a nice clean fun daily.
My SC300 is getting 20-21mpg right now, and im babying it. I just bought a 93 CIvic shell and dropped a new motor in it, AC system and the SC300 is getting parked as of monday. It costs me $80-100 in gas a week on the lexus, $20-25 in the Civic.

has anyone seen the mod you can do to the prius?
http://www.calcars.org/priusplus.html
http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/environment/archives/124335.asp
Guys on the PriusPlus boards were reporting 100-150mpg . One guy got 173mpg but he was shutting the car down and doing alot of conservation.
He said it was funny that he had to remind himself to put gas in his car everytime he had to change his oil.
only $12,000

Austin (my son) and myself just watched our local gas station change the prices from $3.99 per gallon to $4.06 per gallon. I told him while we were filling up that the trucks need to be parked unless we really need something hauled.
He has a Dodge Ram quad cab Hemi which gets around 13-16 mpg around here.
For anyone not familiar with gasbuddy.com here is a link of Atlanta showing where it is still around $3.80 per gallon in several locations.

Ahhh ok. I thought the hybrid's had a speed sensor that cut out he electric motor at above 35 mph. If you can do that, then the MPG might be up to par. It's just trying to feather the gas in the ATL 500 is really hard.
