Yah man, photoshop is a program and it is the best. However, if you can't fork over the money or find someone to rip you a copy, then go find the gimp. It has all the same features and it is freeware. I believe the website is gimp.org. Post up any questions, a number of us on IA are familiar with photoshopping techniques.

Photoshop Elements is also a good alternative. If you are doing soley photography, you can get away with most of the stuff you will ever use, and save yourself about 500 bucks.
