I've been working with DSL for about 4 years now (installation, maintenance, etc) I like it better than Cable.. but I've heard Cable is nice if you live in a lowly populated area.

Cable, never had any connection speed problem in densely populated areas, plus being up here now I love it. Plus everyone I game w/ that is on cable has little to no connection lagging problems and those on DSL lag constantly (hmmm makes ya wonder). But I've heard Verizon FiOS is pretty badass.

Cable's are faster then DSL but everyone share the same thing so it gets slow sometimes.. dsl, there's only maximum of like 4 hook up to that base thing so it rarely get that problems..
so if u live in a dense area or a big neighborhood.. i'd use DSL..

hope it helps!

whats the app? are you a gammer, pirate, surfer??

Cable is great for Download larg and mass files, along with the HARD CORE online gaming.... CS:S and most FSP.

DSL is alright its cheap and fast. good for Downloading music files... nothing more. will hold up to WoW even if your an extream PvPer. also fine if you like to play xboxlive

imo cable seems to be more stable and secure. I have charter and the speed and connection is pretty good.

comcast has economy internet now for 24.95 a month. its 768kb/s, i downgraded to it to see if i liked it, its great for browsing but if you a LOT of video viewing, then you might want to get the 4.0 mb/s version. The powerboost that comes along with 4.0 and higher speeds is great. I was downloading big files at 1.5mb/s consistently.

I prefer cable over DSL..... DSL's upload speeds suck ass. Too bad I currently have DSL because I couldn't stand Charter which is the only cable provider in my current area.

We got briefed on upcoming services from Bellsouth/AT&T, they're currently testing 50meg service but getting ready to roll out around 24meg DSL.

for those who had problems with DSl, strange, bellsouth dsl for 5 years now and never had any issues at all.

I prefer DSL as my previous expereinces with cable were that during peak hours it wasn't as fast, due to everyone around using the shared bandwidth. With dsl u dont have this issue.

But yeah if ur in a good spot, cable is def the faster one, also btw cable is by nature actually less secure than dsl, since ur sharing ur bandwidth its like your on one big LAN, a few tweaks and u can pretty much see every computer sharing ur line :-D

also Verizon FIOS is amazing, not just for internet but for TV as well. higher Bitrate channels than any other service out there.

$43.95 i think...if you are a comcast cable customer. between cable and hd service and internet, i just dont feel like paying more than 100$ a month for all of it.

Chris, call comcast and just get the lowest one they offer with power boost.

cable is supposedly faster than dsl, but its also more expensive.

buttttt, when your tv doesnt work, neither does the internet.

i dont know if you have issues like that where you live but when i lived with my parents & we had cable modem, our cable went down ALLLL the time.

dsl just runs off of a phone line.
