So I spent almost all day in Kennesaw yesterday going from store to store looking at baby furniture and stuff with my wife. Comparing styles, prices etc. Does anyone know of a good place to purchase baby items at competetive prices? This is so damn difficult.

How much are you wanting to spend is the question... my ex used to work for a baby furniture company.. I think it was called Victoria Statten or something... anyway... way high end stuff, but it was cool as hell.. stuff that didn't look like your traditional "baby stuff" with pinks and blues and all that... distressed leather diaper bags, oak and canvas playpens... all sorts of cool stuff...

Goddamn you don't have to be so technical about it.

SOHC MONSTER..... There is absolutely NO REASON to spend a lot of money on baby stuff. Most of the stuff you buy for the child will not even last a year...if that long. Clothes and such especially. Why anyone would buy RL or Polo or Sean John type stuff for a baby is beyond my comprehension. The baby will outgrow his/her clothing about every two months or so.

The only thing that will last more than a year (and not much more) is the actual baby bed and a diaper changing table. And I got both of those at Wal Mart and my 5 year old used it and now my 1 1/2 year old uses it (bed). You don't need "leather" diaper bags. You don't need "oak" playpens. I'd stick with Wally World and (like others) Craigslist. Not a thing wrong with some used stuff.

The toys you buy will also be quite a rapidly changing thing. They'll break, the child will get dis-interested in them or whatever other reason. Remember, you have a lot of other things you need to concentrate your money on. Formula, food, diapers, creams ever changing clothes sizes...all sorts of more important things.

I've got four children under my belt so I think I have room to talk. And I do know what I'm talking about. As well as the others who posted that have children. Later, QD.
