okay, so this is my very first HONDA car....and as I bought it for the intent of a DD, I basically did little things here and there to make a decent DD, but I am not sure if I'm just the "honda" type of guy and after throwing some money at the car, I think just as fast as I got into the Honda game, I might just get out.

So IA'ers who've been here awhile or just know more about Honda's than I, what is a no BS, no thread whoring, straight up what is my car worth at this point?

I am by no means hurting for money, so I am in no hurry to sell, because I already got 2 other vehicles that can tide me over.

but anyways, here it is....help me out IA.

I bought this car pretty much BONE STOCK, minus the ebay muffler +intake that are long gone

1997 Honda Civic LX Sedan
1.6L D16Y7
5Speed
COLD A/C
140,000 actual miles
Power Windows/Locks
Cruise Control

**everything I have added/done**
Brand new Viper Alarm
New Cluster with 56k miles
Phillips Xtreme Power Headlight Bulbs (Euro bulbs)
CTR style Headlamp assembly
CTR style Grille
CTR style shift knob
20% Tint all around + front strip
Brand new Falken 205-50-15 All Season Tires
New 15x7 Drag DR-23's Bronze
Brand new Sony CD Player + Rockerfosgate speakers all around
Brand new OEM style muffler
Tune up was 5k miles ago, brand new NGK Platinum Plugs, New Wires, new Cap & Rotor Button
Brand new Distributor
Brand new o2 sensors
Brand new headliner (old one was sagging)
Whole car painted OEM "Cyclone (Grayish) Blue Metallic Clearcoat B-73M" by Mayfield Paint & Body in Villa Rica
Painted Mirrors
Painted Sidemoldings

I also have 10k HID that I bought from Nitro, but did not install...just went another route, and got those Euro Phillip Xtreme bulbs

*the reason for the new o2 sensors and distributor was chasing down a bucking/surging problem and turned out to be a bad ground :slaps forehead:

the car runs and drives great, I've seafoamed and cleaned up the interior....just making it a nice DD for my highway commute.

To rate the car:
Exterior: 8.5 out of 10
Interior: 8 out of 10 (for a car of this age, it's damn nice)
Motor: 8 out of 10? my first Honda, but it gets good gas mileage and quiet
Wheels/Tires: 10 out of 10, bought brand new, no curb rash, no uneven tire wear, no scratches on wheels at all! Tires have roughly 5k miles on them

the only bad...the passenger side locks are really weak? they do not go down all the way on their own, but I just push them down...probably a simple fix that doesn't bother me that much....the passenger rear window does not roll down...haven't had a time to look at it...but doesn't bother me since the A/C blows ice cold

I've been on IA for quite sometime, and most know that in the past I was a anti honda person, but as gas prices rose, I had to get something dependable and good on gas, so this was my choice and I basically did what I thought would make the car look better and a nice DD

you have no idea how much I hear that from every angle...

BUT

this car's intent is strictly daily driving all highway miles....so I just wanted something that rides nice and can take speed bumps

On a normal day I'd say about 4-k. With the way gas prices are you might get 5-K if you find the right buyer. I've been out of Hondas for a while, but I still think it's a good guess.

Sounds like your power lock mechanism thingie is going out (the official name eludes me atm) on the pass. side... I might have another one in the shed... I will look, and if I do it's all yours.

I would do like a 1" drop on it... small drop. will make it look cleaner, and it will still be high enough not to be a nuisance.

Other than that, it looks great. Nice DD. :)

thanks for the comments.....

I'm really unsure if I am going to keep this car or not....I'm not going to be driving any of my vehicles for awhile in a little bit, so I am just thinking of what I can cut out...

LMAO @ Peter in a Civic. Not driving a Mustang around anymore?

Honestly, i'd sell the wheels and put some steelies with caps back on so the car looks more stock. People are starting to pay more for "stock" compact cars to save gas.....

The Mustang is long gone, bought a Coupe....but it needed more work that I first thought, so got rid of it.....it was actually one of the very last bone stock GA State Patrol Cars, but I made a good penny off of it.

I know what you mean by "stock" I was trying to get some wheels that were silver so it would look more stock, but this was all they had at the time, but the car mechanically is stock, everything I have done has been mainly cosmetic, but it's nothing that's drastic or mind blowing....I just did what I thought made the car look a little better

I'm sure if you posted a ad for wheels + cash, you could get some bites.

I remember you saying you got that coupe, but didn't know you already sold it. g/l with getting it sold.

i really dont like the 96-00 4 doors. They are just pretty fugly. But to help make it look better, paint the car white or black, tint the tails and DEF lower it.

I didn't even know this was you. I swapped out your tires for you a lil while ago.

This thing was pretty damn clean so I think you could get a good amount for it. Like I said when you were up there I like the bronze on blue.
